The AUTO DATE on Shipping Labels is UNFAIR.
I just printed a label at 5:30 pm CST on 09/16/19. My Carrier picks up at 11:00 AM. The Post Office Closes at 4:30 or 5:00 depending on the day and Office location. I just received the order today and I'm set up for 1 Business Day handling. So, that should put the shipping date on the label to tomorrow - automatically. But nope. That's not how it works.
There is a choice in Seller Hub about when a purchase is to be passed onto the next day's business. But, I guess, since I'm processing it today for shipment tomorrow, the system Auto Dates for today.
Then, I get a DING for not shipping on time. I can call and discuss this with an eBay rep and spend half my day arguing my case. But I shouldn't need to do that.
FIX THIS eBAY! OR DON"T DING OUR ACCOUNTS FOR YOUR WEST-COAST TIMETABLE.

That sounds like the problem. Your one-day rule isn't in line with eBay's one day rule.
eBay sales are clocked on Pacific Time, so if you have one day handling and an order comes in before midnight PST, you have to ship the next day. At least you get the extra hour reprieve. I'm on the east coast so my 2:59 a.m. still counts as a purchase the day before and I'm scrambling in the morning if I have a full day out.
If you want to use your one-day rule, you need to switch to a 2 day handling time.

Yes, that occurred to me after my previous post went up... I think there's someplace where you can specify the time for when your business day transitions to the next... I'm not in a position at this moment where I can dig into that further, but yes, there might be some adjustment you can make so that a late-night purchase doesn't blindside you in the morning...

When you print a label look at the top right. There is a drop down box to show the date your want the label dated.

I have run into this a couple of times printing labels too early. I usually just cancel the label and buy another one. by the time the stats take over the usps has already cancelled the first and refunded. ebay can't use stats from cancelled one so the 2nd takes over. i'm guessing but anyway, my stats haven't suffered for it.

You can't print a label "too early," other than of course waiting until you receive payment. The clock starts ticking when the buyer's payment clears, and the next meaningful checkpoint is when the carrier first scans your package. In between, it doesn't matter when you actually print the label.

Takes me a couple weeks to get a refund from USPS.

There is a setting for a "cut-off time" for "same day" , but that does not apply to we "east coasters" in this situation.
As we have found out orders that come in 11:59 PM, or earlier Pacific time, as already stated, must be shipped be shipped "same day our time" to meet 1 day handling.
I changed to 2 day handling just for that reason.
I have since changed to 3 day handling to cover for weather, power, internet, health, going fishing issues. Problem is, eBay will still use "historical" handling/shipping data to display "guaranteed" delivery on listings.
