At what point is delayed payment from a buyer considered excessive?

Sold a buy it now collectible item for almost a grand and accepted a best offer from the buyer, they took almost the full four days to provide payment where I promptly shipped the package out, it arrived over three days ago yet it was delivered to the post office and the buyer has yet to pick the package up leading to almost two weeks of me not receiving the money which is quite unfortunate timing due to my current financial situation.

At what point is the delayed process on the buyers end considered excessive? To my knowledge buyers that are away from home are the most common reason why the package sits in the post office but how long is too long? I'm confident I could have sold the item to another buyer and received the money much earlier, do sellers leave bad feedback after a certain period of lag on the buyers end?

You're not asking about delayed payment from the buyer.  The buyer ha 4 days to pay and he apparently met that deadline, but not fast enough for your needs.

You are asking about delayed payment on the part of eBay.

ALL new sellers can have payments held for about a month by eBay.

The fact that the seller has not yet picked it up does not make any difference in how fast your funds are released.

Regarding your question about leaving bad FB for a buyer, bottom line is this:  a seller cannot ever leave bad FB for a buyer.

In light of your question here, you might want to go back and reread eBay's rules for sellers.

@dreamy-collectibles

I would be worried about the the tracking actually showing as officially  "delivered".

Other posters will be along to comment on this.  Having a $1,000 item sitting at a post office is not ideal.

Might be a good idea to post the verbiage in the tracking details as that question might be asked by other forum members. Check both eBay and the actual USPS website. What does the tracking state?

If the item cost and shipping was over $750 I hope you added Signature Delivery.

In fact if a buyer disputes a credit card payment claiming not received the only proof of delivery no matter the cost is signature delivery.
