Anyone having trouble printing the correct label today?

I selected Small Flat Rate Box, showed the correct price, so bought the label.

Went to print the label and it was for a Flat Rate Envelope and was charged for a Flat Rate Envelope.

Lucky I had a flat rate envelope so it worked out OK and was even a little cheaper.

Just glad I noticed before I stuck it on a small flat rate box.

Have a great day.

I haven't been able to print out any shipping labels through ebay or PayPal at all.  I just get an error message from both.  Has something changed?  It's a real drag having to go to the post office to ship and pay more.  I met another ebay seller at the P.O. doing the same for the same reason - can no longer print out on-line labels.  We have both been with ebay and PayPal for years.  Anybody know why this is happening?  Thanks!

I had to update my Adobe Acrobat Reader to print from the new label system.

Try updating your PDF reader and see if that helps?

I have zero problems printing correct labels using the new eBay label Flow, the classic eBay label flow, or PayPal labels. (printed two using the classic flow earlier today just fine.)

I download or print all labels as PDFs, and process/print them using PDF X-change viewer (or any old PDF viewer I have out of the half dozen on this machine - Adobe isn't one of them). And I use obsolete Firefox 3.6.24, slightly less obsolete Firefox 31, and year obsolete and unsupported Firefox 52.

In other words, there is nothing "complicated" going on here that requires "updated" tools, at least when downloading labels as PDFs.

Printing using Adobe or other browser handling may have other issues. Maybe something else going on like browser incompatibilities, antivirus getting in the way, or something similar.

My understanding is that printing labels "in browser" using native browser PDF handling has always been inconsistent and troublesome.

I had the old shipping label version come up for a little while and then it went away! Although I could still print the labels with no problem. I want the old version back! I hate measuring everything!

I don't have any problems printing the labels, but never given the wrong one before.

Bought a small flat rate box label and was given a label for a flat rate envelope.

Have a great day.

If I am using an account that is not Top Rated I use pirateship. This skips eBay's error prone system and I get get $100 insurance instead of $50 and cubic pricing with commercial pricing.

If I am using a Top Rated account and shipping 1st Class, Media Mail or Parcel Select I use pirateship to skip eBay's error prone system and obtain $100 insurance, commercial & cubic pricing.

If I am using a Top Rated account and shipping Priority Mail I use eBay to get the 3% discount. I have noticed an perhaps some interesting patterns over time:

  • If immediately withdraw all my PayPal funds for the item this likely produces some type of error on eBay in regards to printing a label. One needs to wait a few minutes for the error to go away.
  • Same as above but I don't try to create a label on eBay rightaway. I wait a few minutes after withdrawing my all my funds. There is rarely an error.
  • I don't withdraw my funds and use a non eBay/PayPal credit card. I try to print a label rightway. Usually an error. If I use the account balance for the label then errors are rare. I don't have a eBay / PayPal credit card to see if the same errors occur.
  • This might suggest PayPal is still going out of its way to discourage you from using anything other than your PayPal balance or their credit card.

It makes one wonder what type of primates they are using to prove the "Infinite monkey theorem".

I know, but I was responding to poster cally60_4 and the thread in general at the same time when I posted in response to your post.

>>but never given the wrong one before. Bought a small flat rate box label and was given a label for a flat rate envelope

That is the first I've seen of that ever for either eBay label flow or PayPal label flow I can recall. (not out of the question that the new label flow COULD do that with all the other problems it has, but...)

As such, I'd have to ask if you are 100% certain you actually did have SFRB selected when you pulled the trigger?

(in my case that determination would be trivial as a PDF print of the label page just prior to and just after purchasing the label is part of my order processing flow as it provides a redundant snapshot of the label process, any insurance, service selected, weight, dims, EDD, etc, and the supposed label cost. Along with a downloaded PDF of the purchased label/receipt)

I don't like the new format either as I use first class mail for many of my smaller items that I put in poly shipping bags both padded and un-padded.   I never had to provide measurements for First Class Parcels before.
