I shipped and item to go to NY PRIORITY 2/3 DAYS on the 9/2 at USPS . The first tracking was TODAY 9/5 WITH A DELIVERY DATE OF 9/9! That is unacceptable considering I had to wait 4 days for eBay to deposit $$ with the HORRIBLE Managed Payments!

On the USPS YES a lot of folks have been having trouble with them.

Haven't you heard? Where have you been, Rip Van Winkle?
So several issues here: (a) PM is not a time-guaranteed service, so that's that, and (b) your in-transit time includes a holiday weekend. USPS employees actually get a few days off a year. This weekend is one of those times.
If you find USPS "unacceptable", you should contact your member of Congress. They definitely aren't busy dealing with any USPS issues right now and I'm sure they'll get back to you straight away.

Yes, there are definitely issues. For outgoing parcels I don't have trouble with acceptance scans since my mail is picked up and scanned by the mail carrier. It is after the item starts to "move" that things are getting problems. I have had quite a few that simply say "in transit" and never update. Filled out all the inquiries and forms at USPS, and NOTHING. Got at least five now that have not updated in over a month, all 1st class parcels.
For my website sales, I simply upgraded to Priority Mail, for at least when I have to refund for parcels never arriving, I can make an insurance claim.
Incoming mail that used to take 3 - 4 days is arriving anywhere from 7 days to a couple of weeks if at all.

Anyone? Everyone......
USPS problems have been making headlines all over the planet. Congressional hearings quizzing the Postmaster General. The two Presidential candidates sniping at each other about the USPS. Headlines about the Covid virus limiting mail delivery. USPS distribution centers backed up and mail sitting in trucks with no one to deliver.
I had a package take 25 days to go 50 miles. I could have walked it faster.
I had a package from Germany take 94 day to get to me.
I have stuff from April that still hasn't been delivered.

Ayup. I am now upgrading any sales over $80-$100 or so to PM . My usual practice is free First Class Package, but now that's bogging down significantly, and no longer gets there as fast as Priority, plus I've now had one FCP vanish off the face of the earth (refunded after 5 weeks of no tracking).
Ironically, my First Class International shipments are chugging along just fine. I've had recent shipments to Thailand, Hong Kong and the Russian Federation all arriving more or less in their usual timeframe.

Two days ago I received an unclaimed package back...that I shipped in May. It's September.

Other countries have been building modern roads, bridges, airports, and other vital infrastructure for decades while we let ours rot. Their governments also support their national logistics (mail) services rather than trying to destroy it. They also didn't bungle Covid, so they are able to safely move on while we - apparently - are (still, amazingly) pretending it doesn't exist.
You know, the little things...

I just talked to a customer is Belarus I mailed 1st class package July 3rd. He got it today.
I had a Flat rate envelope Priority mail take 24 days California to Indiana. It stopped somewhere and didn't move for 8 days.

They also charge more money than $3.00 to deliver a small package 3,000 miles. We're spoiled with the low prices.
Everybody moaned that the public would never adjust or accept $2.00 gasoline. But they did and they do.
55 cents to send a Birthday card to my Uncle 2,000 miles away is nonsense. Still a bargain at $1.00

Fortunately, I don't have any such problems. All packages are delivered reasonably fast (I am in Virginia), almost all shown are 1st class. 1-2 in the screen shot may be Priority

Providing it arrives at all. For the COST we can eventually adjust accordingly. Mail and parcels that simply vanish on a regular basis, will be more difficult.

Slow customs service, argh!

Shipped this one the other day... I was concerned due to everything I've heard about the MI sort centers being absolute nightmares, but it looks like they've cleared up that issue. DC to MI Priority Mail, 2 days in transit. No problems with tracking being updated, either.

All my packages have been arrived as they should. If it makes a difference everything I received was priority one even from Maine. I am in Oregon and the Maine one took less time then the one from the Seattle Wa area.
