So I bought an item that was listed under the condition " for parts/repair ". However in the description, the seller stated the item was not tested and It may be in good working condition. Here is the exact words from the description.
""I received this mother board and have never tested it as i do not have a compatible cpu.
It may be in good working condition.
Sold as is for parts or repair. ""
The item came through and I tested it and not that it did not just work, it was completely DEAD! I contacted the seller, and they said no return since it was sold for parts/repair. However I feel like the description is misleading you to believe that the item would work with that second senetence in their description. The question is, is there anyway or any chance I would be able to return this item if I open a return with ebay.

No. It was listed for parts or not working. And the listing did not state it was working. The listing wasn’t misleading at all. The seller was upfront and said it wasn’t tested and didn’t know if it worked.

100% agree. I would also add, if the OP required a working part, why would you purchase one that says, "For Parts/Repair Untested" instead of one that says "Tested/Working" ???????
When an item is purchased in "For Parts/Repair" the buyer has to acknowledge they are taking a risk. Their OWN risk. It does not mean, if it does not work, that the buyer can complain and return.
This for me is what is wrong today. Some will not take responsibility for their own actions, and want to find someone to blame.
This category should have absolutely No Returns period. BB.

As is means you pay your money, and you take your chances...
I would assume the price on this was less than a new, tested part. If it worked, would you have sent the difference in price to the seller since it was good? I don't think so.
Not trying to be rude or mean, but I don't see how the OP can be upset over this. Lesson learned, next time pay the price and get a new part if it is that important. (And I agree with others, items sold as is/for parts should not be eligible for returns period!)

I looked at the OP feedback, just curious if he neg'ed the seller, but he has feedback set to private so can't see anything.

Not sure why you directed this at me, but if my post is read it can be seen that I said it is the Buyers Risk and the item should not eligble for a return. Thanks.

My thoughts exactly.
