Asking for a relative! My brother recently sold an expensive sports card ( more than 20 K). Buyer has paid and now he is ready to ship. Post office and FedEx both told him they do not insure sports cards or coins. Any advice on how to ship this card safely? Also I reminded my brother that he needs to have proof that the card is received. Thanks for any suggestions

I smell a scam. I would never sell anything that expensive here. The ONLY safe way to do so is Local Pick Up Only and take CASH, not even a cashiers check. Family freind lost their GTO to a scam fake cashiers check. Police were involved but the car never recovered.

Type in Baseball, Football, or Basketball Rookie Cards sold and completed. Then select highest + shipping price and you will see that $20,000 happens several times a day with many selling far higher than that. This is normal on eBay as hundreds of cards are sold between $1,000 to $10,000 every day. PWCC has a store on here and they have a chart in what they charge per card depending on sale price and what shipping service they use. Not saying there are not a lot of scams but its usually in the $100 or less cards in which that takes place. High end cards bought to scam are a rarity on here believe it or not.

Thanks for all the advice! Card was actually an autographed golf card. He ended up sending the card registered mail which can be insured up to 50k. I haven't checked yet but the card should have been delivered on Monday. Thanks again

Only problem with hand delivering is that you have no verifiable proof. If the buyer decides afterwards to claim he never received it (and there is no tracking to back it up as delivered), then Ebay will put it in dispute and remove funds from your account/bank until resolved. Be careful with that one even if you bring an invoice and have them sign as received in satisfactory condition, and as described.
