I'm trying to ship an item out and the buyer updated me prior to shipment that they needed the order shipped to another address. When I tried to put the updated address in, I wasn't able to change the zip code. Now the order is giving me the warning that the zip code is incorrect and i'm not able to manually adjust it.

Look at the buyer ID shown on the order.
Then look at the ID of the "buyer" who requested the address change.
If they're different IDs, ignore and block the one who requested the change. It's a scammer. (I'm guessing this is the case.)
If they're the same person, tell them you need to cancel the order and you'll relist. If they repurchase, they can change the shipping address prior to completing payment.

When a buyer needs to change the shipping address, it's always better to cancel and have the buyer re buy with the correct address.

Sellers have no eBay protection if they change the address.
I would never change an address. You can cancel the sale and have the buyer repurchase and put in the correct address.
Then you keep what little seller protection you have.

"... and the buyer updated me prior to shipment..."
The buyer should have given you the correct address prior to payment. Do as the others have advised. Inform your buyer that you'll need to cancel the sale ('Problem with buyer's address') and ask them to re-purchase. Good luck.

Hi, I think that you are obligated to ship to the address that eBay gives you. This is the address that they have on file for your buyer. Best to do as others have said. Explain to your buyer that you have to cancel the sale with the reason of "problem with buyers address." You can then relist the item & your buyer can adjust his address thru. eBay & re-buy. Good Luck!! (J.B.)

Sellers cannot change the zip code or the country when buying a label @jvalleypickups . The fields are locked.
If you want to maintain seller protections, eBay requires you ship to the address on the order details.
As others mentioned, make sure it's the same ID as your buyer requesting the change, and if it is you can cancel the order choosing the reason "problem with buyer's address" and have them place a new order, entering their new address before paying. Let them know per eBay policy you can't change the address on the order.

Do not change anything. It's very simple, only ship to the address the buyer has put into the eBay system. Any changes, the buyer has to make those themself beforehand
