Hello,
I need help with a little problem. So my father bought an item from China through Ebay. They sent a wrong item to my father so he contacted the seller. Seller said that they will send the correct item (its about 25€ so they didnt want him to return the wrong item) but also asked to close the return case. Since my fathers English is not that good he didn't exactly understand what that means and closed the case without getting the correct item. Few weeks passed and he wrote again to seller that he hasn't recieved the item and seller said that there was a problem and it should take few more days but of course they didn't send it. Because the return case was closed and can't be opened again we can't even contact Ebay because this case is 'solved' and the item doesen't even appear in history etc.
Does someone know if there is anything we can do or we just need to face the fact that we got basically scammed?
Thank you!

Unfortunately you’re right there isn’t much you can do here. You’re avenue with eBay is gone you can’t open another case. If you filed with PayPal you’d have to pay return shipping to China which wouldn’t be worth it. If your father paid with a credit card it could be disputed through the credit card
never let a seller convince you to close a case

Also since all the communication went through ebay then there is clear proof that they tried to convince him to close the case before recieveng an item. Seems like there is nothing to do but its worth asking what others think. At least we know next time.

You're in Estonia, I'm in the U.S so YMMV. If it's less then 180 days since the transaction, you can open a SNAD case in PayPal, but you would be responsible for return shipping (to China), Most (almost all) returns to China are not cost effective and its better to sell, donate or enjoy the widget you received then to ship it back and get a refund. Find a seller in your country and purchase it from them.

Not sure how traffic deaths are related here but thanks anyway. If it is because I used a word 'accidentally' then it is my bad, English is not my first language 🙂
Thank you for the answers, we are smarter next time.
