A question on service metrics,.

My listings specify one day shipping.

If I sell something on Monday it appears on my sold page with the notation that I must create a label by 11:59 PM Tuesday.  But my post office closes at 5:30PM. So if I create the label Tuesday evening, which eBay apparently considers "on time", it is not going to make it to my post office until Wednesday.

Is that considered a "late shipment" even though the label was created "on time" and it is impossible to get it to the post office Tuesday evening?

If it is considered "late" then please explain the dichotomy.

I can only make them think

The key is getting the scan on that Tuesday.

No scan until Wednesday— you are late.

If your schedule does not permit a “Tuesday scan,” change your handling time to 2 days.

You aren't automatically late if you do not get that scan within your handling time frame,  since it may arrive on time or the buyer can state it was on time if they give feedback.   You just lose the guarantee of meeting the late shipment rate metric without that initial scan within your handling time---you will be dependent on others (mail delivery or buyer) to help you meet it.

Of course you have to upload the tracking number within your handling time frame to meet the upload tracking metric.
