Did you mean:

A possible good omen

Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed a significant change at my post office. Before I would bring prepaid packages and drop them at an open window counter (my post office has 7 counters and usually 3-5 clerks.)

Now, there are 5-7 clerks and a laundry tub basket beside the windows (sometimes 2 of them) to drop off your packages. And each time I have been there the baskets have been fairly full. And these are just the prepaid packages. You know, the kind of things that online sellers ship.

Parenthetically, the lines are also getting longer with people bringing in packages that are not prepaid.

Very unscientific I know. But based on that narrow snapshot it does appear that there is a significant uptick in prepaid packages (online sales?) being shipped. At least at my post office. One can hope that bodes well for the upcoming season.

Yes a bunch of people in your area order stuff from online. So yes you will see a rise in online orders. Yes you will see a rise in folks standing in line. It is unusual to have 5 to 7 clerks. Usually it's only 1 or 2.
