Hello community,
I am new to selling and wanted to ask a couple of quick questions. I've done my research but just wanted to clarify on a few things!
If the listing says USPS Parcel Select Package but I switch it to a faster shipping USPS Priority Mail Package is that considered ok? It is only .10 more to do so.
When you list an item do you find significantly more luck to do faster shipping? I've been experimenting with this but don't have enough volume yet to make a conclusion. To sum this up, is it worth to list every item USPS Priority over the slower shipping times?
Last one, this one might be obvious. I've found mixed answers for this though. Can I ship an item in a Priority mail box when the service is USPS Parcel Select Package. Again might be obvious, but I watched a video where the guy said it didn't matter.
I appreciate everyone, thank you!
Robert

Cool Name
Wanted to give a hint on providing faster shipping, I have found that when I can, I ship First Class mail and it seems most of the time the delivery times are just as fast as Priority Mail but you keep your costs down and you can pass this savings on to your customers. Unless it is a fragile or high value item I use padded envelopes when I can, it cuts down on weight and Items over 1 pound ship cheaper in a padded envelope. Example:
AZ to PA, Box 8x6x4, 1lb13oz $8.92
AZ to PA, Padded Envelope 8x10, 1lb13oz $8.25
Doesn't seem like a lot but when your sales volume goes up it counts.
Downside is that First Class Mail Does not come with insurance.
There are online shipping services that allow you to ship up to 16oz at First Class Rates and give you the Cubic Priority Rate option that with heavy items can be a significant savings. This has allowed me to be much more flexible with my listings , I can offer free or reduced shipping on items I wouldn't otherwise be able to. I'm not sure if I can mention the name of the one I use without violating Ebay rules.
Have fun selling, I have been selling off and on since 2003 and decided to give a go at full time about 2 months ago. Lots of work but has been rewarding and I just got an Ebay store, now I have to figure out how to get it all set up but that's another story.... https://www.ebay.com/str/surprisedealsaz check it out if you get the time!
