This can happen. I once mailed two boxes of books to someone on the same day and they arrived on different days and had different tracking scans. Some of our post offices scan upon receipt, but even then (like my local office) they sometimes miss a package. If all is well, a scan should show somewhere along the way. Without knowing how long the packages have been in the system, it's hard to comment further.
