01153 unknown in 2017 and still unknown zip in 2021

USPS needs to replace their IT department with Kindergartners.

That would greatly improve their IQ way over the political appointees currently in that department.

Just like many addresses actually have two zip codes.

Reside in one according to USA fire number/addresses , and even though we have a local post office , it is a post office from another town and another zip code that delivers to my address.

It is no small wonder that we get tracking info that says 01153 invalid zip code four years continuously.  Workers should "BY LAW" be hired for what they know rather than who they know.

I am both a buyer and a seller.

It aggravates me to no end when I see a buyer blaming a seller when the dummies at USPS screw up. Once the seller ships, it is the USPS responsibility.  But nobody guilty accepts the blame.  It is NOT the sellers fault that our government hires unqualified people because of who's campaign they worked on.  But it is the buyer's fault when he/she blames the seller because the buyer is unable to think rationally.

Sellers used to be able to see who left STUPID FB to other sellers and we used to maintain a block list for them.  Ebay stopped that for NO GOOD REASON.

The same way ebay does not allow searches by delivery date or by feedback percent scores.  I am quick to pay for higher intelligence and integrity as part of the item I purchase.  The cheapest price often comes with "NO INTEGRITY".

Sellers who give multiple shipping carriers to choose from are also a big plus.

FedX is often cheapest carrier but they leave your packages in the middle of the road instead of your door step.

UPS is the most reliable but charges more (can get a deal on UPS ShurePost).

USPS is in the middle price wise and local delivery agent is seldom the problem.

USPS has most of their problems in distribution centers because they hire casual labor of whom half are unemployable winos.  The postal unions need to step up and demand 99.999% union labor every step of the way.  USPS also need to end the practice of making temp postmasters out of people who are not smart enough to pass ALL of the appropriate examinations.

Again;

EVERYONE should be hired ONLY for what they know rather than who they know.

01153 nor any other valid zip code should ever return an error such as;

"UNKNOWN invalid zip code".  USPS IT department should also use redundant servers so if one machine is down for maintenance one or more others take it's place to ELIMINATE server errors.

Today's technology is awesome BUT very few take the time to THINK themselves when using it.  As one of my favorite collage teachers used to say "GIGO"

(garbage in, garbage out).

A computer is a stupid box that only does what it is told to do.

Want to be richest person in the world;

invent a computer that does what you meant it to do instead of what you told it to do.!

STOP blaming sellers and enlist their help getting your package.

Think before leaving feedback (who's fault is it?).

If you want to see more products sold on ebay, then make ebay a place where sellers feel safe to sell.  Demand that ebay "UN-HIDES" feedback identities.

When you go to the USPS site and do a Zip code look up for your address, what does it show for that address and is that the one you are having issues with?

Not sure if there are "many" address with two zip codes, and what does your fire zip code have to do with getting mail delivered? The only zip that is important, is the one shown on the USPS site for your address.

@here_since_2004

According to the USPS zip-code lookup app, 01153 is not a valid zip code. Zip codes are maintained by the USPS, so if they say it's invalid, they have the last word. You can check it here:

https://m.usps.com/m/ZipLookupAction?search=zip

According to google results, 01153 is the zip code for a single building within zip code 01152 (Springfield, MA), which is the Springfield MA USPS mail distribution center. I believe that it occasionally shows up on tracking histories when a package is processed there.

Assuming that you are probably located close to that location, you should enter your street address into the USPS address lookup app, and find out what is the correct mailing address that you should be using.

https://m.usps.com/m/ZipLookupAction?search=address

It is possible that there are mistakes in some street addresses. On my short street, there are two houses that have incorrect house numbers. I say incorrect, because they are out of sequence compared to the houses on either side of them. It confuses delivery drivers all the time, especially since all the 6 houses on that side of the street have the same zip+4 zip-code.
