USPS is delivering PRIORITY Mail on Sundays

I am receiving USPS PRIORITY MAIL delivery now on Sunday,but directy from the hub not from my local post office.

I became aware of this about a month ago, when I found a large package was simply left on my porch, without ringing my doorbell. USPS tracking as of today stil does not indicate this mail article as having been delivered.

Today, I received notification of a purported USPS Sunday delivery from the USPS hub, I was again home & no one rang the doorbell, However this time NO PACKAGE!

Yes , my doorbell does work perfectly, & would without any doubt  have been heard.

Wonder how this type of service merited a rate increase.

my post office skips saturday and delivers sunday all the time. a mail person hasn’t rung my doorbell in over a decade.

USPS here is closed Sundays.

first yes usps has been delivery on sundays for packages ...they catch up and do the fedex smart post, amizon, etc all.....some areas probably not needed...but yep they do..

as for yours, i didn;t understand...maybe they didn't leave it , thinking no one there...and will be there tomorrow...maybe they scanned but didnt get there, maybe its at the neighbors house...on the wron porch.... 

it really doesn't matter if it was a sunday or anyday... if you see a delivered on a scan update and you dont have it...you need to contact the local PO or look around...

and rate increases have far more to do with cost than sunday deliveries....and they do it because...what the issue with that?

My Post office is open Monday-Friday. Mail is delivered Monday-Saturday. One of the mail carriers on my street rings my doorbell all the time.

This week the Postal Service announced plans to move into one of the few remaining frontiers of package delivery – Sundays.

Sunday delivery isn’t exactly new. The Postal Service delivers 7 days a week using the premium Priority Mail Express product. So, what’s really new is the low cost of the service – making it a solid option for consumers.

PRIORITY MAIL EXPRESS DELIVERY ON SUNDAYS/HOLIDAYS
Effective January 10, 2017

The destination ZIP Codes listed support scheduled delivery of Priority Mail Express
shipments on Sundays and/or holidays. It must be used in conjunction with the Priority Mail
ExpressdDirectory.

USPS States only priority mail express and Amazon packages are delivered Sunday's !

In both instances delivery was indicated in tracking as directly from the dist hub in another zip code & unfortunately these mail articles are not sent to my local PO for delivery.

 Priority mail delivery is Monday -Sat  by my local PO 

(These mail articles were not priority express nor amazon)

Sunday job performance review

There's no maybe it's not too much trouble to ring a doorbell and run away, or scan an item as delivered, 

and where is that package you did scan as delivered ?

Such job performance only results in unhappy ebay buyers and sellers.

 Hopefully this missing mail article,       ( which was not cheap), will appear.

If it does not I will invest some hours 

In reporting,  & follow up, be a statistic , and minimize my exposure to a USPS  Sunday delivery.

I get mail on Sunday too.
Get a Ring doorbell. On Saturday we were out & got a notice that a package was delivered from A logistics. I called hubby he went outside, no package. I looked on my phone. No one had come near the house. I can answer my door from anywhere & the video starts as soon as a vehicle pulls up out front. I get A logistics on the line & tell them the whole story. They say how can you be sure no one came to your house? I say I’ve got video & a Ring doorbell I bought from you guys. No one arrived at my home in a vehicle. The item was sent right back out & the driver fired. Video or lack of it can sometimes save you

USPS should consider providing body cameras to their delivery personnel.

Mail article was scanned in the vicinity but not at my actual physical location.

The time of the scan is curiously exactly at the half hour mark.

on week-ends we sometimes get packages but they are delivered from a car, not a USPS vehicle.  I wonder if it might be outsourced.

Update:

Missing mail article failed to appear today.

Reporting a USPS service complaint is very time consuming.

USPS call center rep. and a USPS administrator both claimed to have no knowdledge of a regular priority mail article being delivered on a Sunday.

No interest in taking a report to document of having received delivery of a mail article on a prior Sunday, but tracking still does not show that article as being delivered.

I have been informed my local post office will investigate and telephone me with the result. 

Realize the missing article was never in the possession of my local PO.

The following can happen when contacting your local post office about a service complaint by Telephone.

1. Mail box full

2. Line busy 

3. No answer

4. Disconnect

5. Emploee just hangs up

6. told to call back latter, too busy now

7. told their computer system is down

8. Asks for your name & number, told to expect a return call (that fails to happen)

9. When you ask to speak with the station manager, you are told I Am the Station Manager, he listens briefly to the issue, then says I'll ask my supervisor to call you back.

Unfortunately no return call is forthcoming

What can happen when you Visit

1. Computers are down

2. The person you need to speak with is out, come back another time

USPS JUST RANG MY DOORBELL,  HANDED ME THE MISSING PACKAGE, & SAID WAS DELIVERED TO THE WRONG BUILDING!

( waiting 4 days is better than never received)
