Hello,
I purchased an item on Saturday the 23rd with an estimated delivery of Saturday the 30th. Today is Saturday the 30th and the item did not arrive. Ebay order details show a tracking number but nothing else. USPS tracking says, June 26th Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item. I have contacted the seller and asked if they could provide an update on the shipping details but haven't received a reply.
What do you think is happening? I'm not worried, yet, looking for opinions on the situation.
Thank You

So, the tracking appears to indicate the package has not arrived at a USPS facility, the seller hasn't replied to your message, the package was supposed to arrive today but hasn't, and you're not worried?
Under these circumstances, I, personally, would file an INR (Item Not Received) claim at 12:01 a.m. tomorrow morning. Use the "Resolution Center" link at the bottom of virtually every eBay page and follow the directions. You must file this claim within 30 days of the estimated delivery date, and do not miss any other deadlines involved in the processing of the claim.
Glitches happen with the scanning and tracking of packages, and it may yet shake loose with an update; however, considering the seller hasn't bothered to respond, I wouldn't wait to file the claim.

I have learned to always file an Item Not Received case when I have not received my item the day after the latest estimated delivery date has passed, nothing personal, it has become standard operating procedure for me.

Unless we're talking Big Bucks, I guess I'm a bit more laid back than the first two posters. I usually wait at least two business days for a seller response, and would file the INR after that time if tracking is still not showing any movement. In fact, I just did so this week for the first time in years.

As far as what's likely happening, I can think of three possibilities:
1. item was actually shipped, but tracking isn't updating.
2. seller is a slacker or crook and didn't actually ship yet
3. seller fulfilled order through Amazon, and purchased a USPS label because eBay can't handle Amazon tracking. (I don't know why sellers do this, but I've had it happen several times.)

Or perhaps it was one of these three possibilities:
Seriously--is there really any point in speculating what is happening with this package? None of it makes a bit of difference in the way the buyer should proceed--whether it's at 12:01 on July 1 or however many days after whatever.

Thank you for the replies.
I checked informed delivery at USPS and they show a package is in preshipment. Not that this is new information, but why does it say Pitney Bowes? My item is from Florida. I thought that was for global shipping.

Nope. You thought wrong.

It would never occur to me to file an item not received claim the day after the estimated delivery date. Yes it’s possible the item wasn’t shipped but it’s just as possible that the package was shipped and not scanned. Since ebays estimated delivery dates are often inaccurate, I would at least a few days.

Yes--that's the next step in the "INR" process. It is not unusual--it is the standard procedure in the timeline of "INR" cases. That's one reason I suggested you file right away--you're going to have to wait another seven days anyway.
This time, instead of you contacting the seller about not receiving your item, eBay has contacted them. Perhaps it will get their attention to have communication from eBay rather than from you. If you don't hear from the seller, and your package still hasn't arrived, ask eBay to step in on July 9. Do not let this deadline pass.

Pitney Bowles is more than GSP,dont they sell mailing devices for you to weigh, pay postage ?
but now what one of you said-

-------------------------------------------------------
seller is printing a USPS label just to show it has printed a label?
but it would never be used since AMZN is doing the shipping,so seller has to cancel or void this label in x number of days to get his money back?
if Ebay cant handle amzn TRACKING,what happens when buyer files INR and seller uplods an AMZN tracking which EBay cannot track,he would lose the dispute?
and his USPS label which he printed on Ebay is worthless as he did not use it or ship anything?

I don't understand why some sellers do it, but I've had it happen several times from sellers with plenty of feedback. I'm guessing the seller thinks it helps them with their on-time shipping metric, but I'm not sure it does.

One of the reasons I like to wait a few days before contacting eBay about INR is that if there's some simple mixup, I create an extra hassle for both me and the seller for nothing.
Another reason is if the seller then corrects the tracking or even ships that day, losing the INR blocks me from leaving feedback even if there are other problems with the sale.

Do not let the deadline pass? They have 30 days after opening the request so there are no dire consequences if the buyer doesn’t ask ebay to step in on July 9th.
