Re: links opening in new tab

I was having the same problem and found something that worked for me. For me it was in the Ebay website, when you type in a search and click enter to bring items up there is a 3 line menu button next to the filter (like best match or price) click on the 3 lines and that's where you can change from list or grid but below that there is a (customize) button click that and go to (open item page in) click (same tab) and then (apply changes). Hope it helps someone else since it was frustrating me too!

racing*fever Thank you for that solution. This is a problem that has been troubling the UK Ebay for some months also.

Awesome job @racing*fever

Not that I would ever use it...I like my items opening in new tabs - been doing it manually for years.

But for those who do not like the multiple tab thing, you have given them the perfect solution to this feature that some do find annoying.

I was blind but now I see!  Looked every where (so i thought) for that and cursed ebay about it.

Re: links opening in new tab

Thanks for helping me recently.  I found The Customize Your Search Icon, but the settings keep reverting back to “Open In New Tab” after a couple of searches.  And I don’t know if this makes any difference, but the “Apply Changes” Click-On Box is not vivid blue, but a very light blue as if the box is somehow not valid, although when I exit, it says the changes have been made.  Any ideas on this further eBay aggravation?  Thanks again.   Terry

Re: links opening in new tab

You are most welcome.

What browser are you using?

It might be worth trying to use another browser to change that setting -- see if you can get the setting to stick and then return to your original browser.

On the search results page, up in the top right where you can set the List or Gallery view:

Re: links opening in new tab

Seems the option too:

Open item in:  "New Tab" or "Same Tab"

Is no longer shown.  I found that "Restore defaults" in my case corrected the problem for me.
