working 9 to 5?

Wondering if most people here have a set schedule for the day and week and sucessfully stick to it?

I"ve been informed that due to my condition I really need to set boundaries with work and stick to a schedule. But for me work has always been activities that fill up my day when I'm not doing things like eating meals or running errands. I'm going to try to adhere to a 9 to 5 or 6 schedule which will be tough because I've always worked before and after that window.  No more ending auctions later than 4:30 I think. Or doing the mail at 7pm.

Re: working 9 to 5?

There were 21 coffee shops within walking distance of my house pre-Covid, not counting chains. Currently only 19, and one was taken over by  Tim Horton.

I think Victoria sounds wonderful. The town I live in is kind of a dump. But I guess it's MY dump. It has a lovely garden in it [mine!].

Canada is a pretty nice place, pending where.

I live near Toronto and last year a meth lab exploded on the next street near where I live. The house was razed.

Re: working 9 to 5?

Yes, Sunday is the gold standard. I spent all day writing auctions to launch a nd am currently going through everything to collect sales, delete, re-list with B.O. or move to the store. It's a lot.  But next Sunday is NO listing auctions due to my trip! WHAT will I do with myself??

Depending on the exact dates of your trip schedule the listings to start on Thursday 13 June and run for 10 days if you are going to be back by 23 June. If not schedule them to start on Thursday 20 June and end on 30 June. Ditch the OBO.

9 to 5  schedule EH - what time zone???.  For successful selling  one must make it easy for prospect buyers to do business with a seller - not the other way around -  for the most part buyers have the option to buy from some one else.  Had a  successful 41 year sales career (tete-a-tete selling) before  hanging up the spurs.  Learned this trait in my Business Communications classes  back in my university days and was reinforced attending Dale Carnegie seminars at night during my career - served me well.    With internet selling you still need to make it easy for folks to buy from you for a myriad of reasons and  don't be a me-too seller. - price is not always the driving factor.

There's 'office hours' but most online sellers will check messages throughout the day. The only time I'm really out of touch is when I'm hiking in the mountains and there is no cell coverage (and at night - my cell phone is off since I no longer have elderly parents). So, really, a conscientious seller can be in touch but not actually on task.

Re: working 9 to 5?

I do, but I'm working for a bigger company that employs a team to list on eBay (and other associated tasks).  I doubt most eBay sellers do, unless they're in a similar situation, but you've gotten a lot of good answers, looks like!
