why do I only sell in California?

Do you offer free shipping or offer set price shipping ? If so that is the most likely reason. Buyers search lowest price including shipping so the same item cost much more for a person selling with calculated shipping that far away.

Yes. eBay has throttled all your listings based on geography. Your listings are being shown to buyers only in specific California ZIP codes.

I read about it on some other threads.

I had that same experience about a year ago. All of my buyers lived in Texas... that was the flavor of the week state for about a month for me. It might bleed into New Mexico but certainly in that quadrant of the United States. As quickly as it appeared, it disappeared. I realize that strange coincidences do happen, but I remember reading on the boards about members a year previous suggesting eBay was funneling their listing exposure to given quadrants of the country. It was that prevalent.  It still occasionally happens to me, but certainly not to the degree of a year ago. Now I do just chalk it up to coincidence.

Sales for Hawaii are far, and few between for us as eBay has chosen to display estimated delivery of over 3 weeks there.  :  <  (

95% of my sales go to CA, NY, OH, PA, TX, FL, ON, BC & QC.  6 States out of 50 & 3 Provinces.  eBay doesn't want to pay the internet fees that provides ALL members to see your listings at ALL times.  Sales to other locations would be random luck for me.  If they purposelessly look in my store, everything is available, of course.  When they do regular searches, this is where the problem begins.  Good luck to us all.    🙂
