Used slides can be used in crafts. They make cool lampshades or faux stained glass window art.

I'd look at local colleges. There may be classes about vintage movies, etc. Google it.

Thanks for your answer. With so many ways to see / stream / download the full movie, why do people pay for one frame from one movie that sometimes cost more that downloading the full movie?

There is a collectable side in vintage film and tv slides of course. Those that were commercially produced and others that may be from the studio use.

I would think that there are people that would collect ANY item from their favorite show (like Star Trek) not because it's a slide, but because it's a Star Trek item they don't already have in their collection.

Exactly. I have quite a sizeable collection of original animation cels because it's neat to be able to own a piece of my favorite movies/TV shows.
