If your item is very rare (one of a kind) then auction would be best (as many people will be searching for your item and placing bids).

If you have a common item (that everyone is selling) it is better  to list as "buy it now".

If you have to ask then DO NOT use auctions. List as BIN only.

To accumulate feedback and keep the scammers and non payers away,  use a buy it now with immediate payment required checked off.  No best offer either.  You don't have anything listed as of yet, so I am assuming you have not been approved to sell yet from Ebay.  While you wait, why not attend the seller school?:

https://sellerschool.ebay.com/

This is a valuable and important tool that will teach you what you need to know to be a seller on ebay.  I suggest that you should enroll after you have set up your account with Payoneer.  That way you'll have time to study while you wait to be approved.

Good luck should you choose to enroll.

If it is a free listing I start with auction with a BIN option (it has to be higher than opening bid if someone wants to make an offer or I won't accept).  Then if it doesn't sell it goes to fixed price.  If it is not a free listing I do fixed price.  Not sure if there is any logic to that.....

List as a fixed price with immediate payment required.

If it was a top that the Queen of England wore, it might be good for an auction, but everyday clothes, no.

Have a great day.

For tops offer Buy Now for what you think is a fair price and see how it goes..

Or offer both.

Buy now and an auction.

The Buy now price goes away if a bid is placed, therefore the starting price on the auction should be the minimum you'll accept because you have to sell it for that price if you only get one bid. The Buy Now price is what you hope someone will pay.

I don't  recommend you have clothing dropped shipped from China.  Their size chart measurements  seldom match and you will be having lots  of returns.

Prepare to get a lot of returns when you sell clothes  because  it's expected, inherent  when you sell something they can try on or examine the material or workmanship before they buy.

Good luck!

Auctions starting at $0.01 get a lot of attention.

Yikes,,,,, that should've read something they can't try on instead of can try on.

I agree with this and there is logic to it, because it makes sense. Start with auctions and add a Buy it now with immediate payment, but without accepting offers.

Also end auctions on Sunday evenings for a higher traffic flow. If that doesn’t sell the items, post a fixed price listing on Friday nights so it will end on a Sunday evening 30 days later. Good advice, GL!
