view counter box on listings

I have maybe half of my 550 listings that still have the view counter box on them. I read that for the sake of mobile buyers, we are supposed to remove active stuff on our listings. Is the counter box one of them? How can I remove them? A phone rep told me that they are only visible to me............is that true? And she didn't have a clue how to remove.  Now that eBay relists the BUY IT NOW listings until cancelled, my numbers are in the hundreds and would hate for buyers to see that many views with no sale........anyone would question the reason for that and not buy. Does anyone else worry about this? Thanks for any help you can give.

I never like those counter boxes.  IMHO it can cause concerns about the product if a buyer looks at it and they think there has been too many views and no purchase.  They may assume something is wrong with the listing that they didn't catch.

Exactly what I said........and why I'm trying to delete them..........still have yet to find anyone who knows how to do that........thanks for writing.

And it really hurt when eBay started auto renewing BUY IT NOW listings. Now we see hundreds and sometimes thousands till it sells. Wonder who came up with that genius idea!

I had them a LONG time ago.  If I remember correctly, I had to go into Revise a listing, HTML in the Item Description box.  Drop to the bottom and find the start and end to theses boxes.  But it was so long ago, I honestly don't remember what the specifics were, other than I had to do it one by one on my listings.  It was a big deal and a lot of time.
