I made the Listing

After clicking "List Item" "

I got :

First, verify your phone number.

I clicked on: "Text Me"

I received a code on my cell phone: 2139 "your one time ebay pin"(I don't know what the meaning)

I clicked CONTINUE and received a message:

"This security code does not look right, please double-check"

"Resend code"

And I do not know what to do?

"PIN" just means Personal Identification Number -- in this case it is just a temporary number. eBay is checking to make sure you are the actual person with that phone number, and that you can actually receive a text at that number.

After you received your code on your phone, did you enter the number before hitting "Continue"?

If that did not work, there may be a time limit involved; the code may only work for a certain period of time. In that case, try the "Resend" option, then enter the new code as soon as you receive it.

Thanks for the reply and explanation. The truth is that I did receive the code for the cell phone, but I did not find where to register it before the "continue" in light of your answer I will try to make the move again.

This might be a bit of a longshot, but it happened to me (though this may just be because I can be a doofus sometimes): I was trying to log into an account where they sent me a code that way, but I managed to key in the number from which the text was sent, instead of the number within the message that I was supposed to be reading.

I had received a message supposedly sent from "123456" (something like that), so I promptly keyed in 123456 as my response. If I had actually opened the message and read it, I would have discovered that the code they were looking for was in there instead. Took me two tries to figure out what I was doing wrong. 🙄
