Having a diverse array of things for sale and trying to get some activity on your account regularly is what tends to help.

Judging by my own recent months here, lack of TRS does not seem to be having an affect one way or another on whether or not I get sales.  Mine have been steady enough to keep afloat and start getting ahead, and I no longer have TRS on any account.  Those that did have it recently, ended up losing it to slow sales.  Ironic, eh?

Also, it is better to operate however works best for you instead of constantly trying to be the "good puppy" and striving to jump through all the little hoops eBay tries to drive you to.

If it works, sell it. If it works well, sell it for more. If it doesn't work, quadruple the price and sell it as an antique.

I believe that if you need to be convinced to *strive* for TRS standing, it may well not be worth it to you.

I've been TRS from the start, simply because that's how I do business here, but it's how I've always done business, even before eBay.

I do believe there are buyers who will give the TRS seller his business over another non-TRS listing when everything else is about the same, so it likely helps the TRS seller get a few more sales each month.

But you also have a LIFE outside of eBay, so if the "striving" costs you too much from your real life, the attention your family deserves from you, your ability to sleep easily at night without worries haunting you, etc.  well, in that case the effort will hardly be worth the reward, will it.

Just examine it from all angles, decide how much you can devote to give your eBay business the time to get and maintain TRS standing, and then decide if the striving is going to worth the prize.

If you can  meet these requirements without it being a strain, then do it if you want.  I'm TRS just doing what I normally do. I don't do anything different to "achieve" it.  If it's not feasible for you to ship next day and get that acceptance scan, then don't worry about it.  Not everyone can ship same or next day. Not everyone has a dependable mail carrier who scans. Most people have lives outside of Ebay, and that's totally cool. That's the beauty of Ebay - you don't HAVE to be confined to shipping in 24 hours.

Does it increase sales? I honestly don't think it makes a difference for most things.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

I'm with the others, I have it only because I did all the things to qualify normally, and always have.  IMO, it's NOT worth it if you have to change the way you do business to aquire it.

The discount one receives is pretty low, unless you are selling an amazingly high amount.  And if you are doing that without TRS status, why change?? As far as the increased placement? Well, no one really knows (or will ever know) if it actually makes a difference or not.

I am surprised you have not been sanctioned for selling the Confererate Flag item ...

if you want to constantly be jumping through ebay hoops go for it. relying on the post office for accurate on time deliveries is a waste as many trs loose that rating due to things they cannot control. the defects are also based on total feedback and we all know most buyers don't bother. good luck

As a TRS for the past few years I must tell you TRS does not Increase sales, TRS does not move you up in a search, and eBay just took half of the discount many here have worked hard to earn. Maintaining TRS just takes to much from a seller, some here have a life besides eBay. Just do a good job on your Descriptions, shipping, and response to buyers questions or problems. This makes a good eBayer. Good Luck to you.

Well, looks like that listing in question does not have Confederate or Flag in the title, and the image doesn't really show a full fledged Battle Flag.  So it could have been missed by the bots or the busybodies who would otherwise "tell on him."

If it works, sell it. If it works well, sell it for more. If it doesn't work, quadruple the price and sell it as an antique.

My comment was intended as a warning to him --- we all know when people post here their listings are checked --- and when a "no-no" is seen the nannies jump all over it ...

I figured that, but also wanted to point out why it may not have been tagged.  No mention of Confederate in the title, so no cause for someone who likes to play hall monitor to go in for a closer look.
