Interesting little tidbit in the article.
UPS transmits about 6% of the U S GDP and only about 3% internationally.
SIX PERCENT ?????? Bet you thought it was more than that.
That's hardly a bump in the road. FedEx, DHL, USPS and a whole host of LTL trucking companies should be able (and anxious) to cover that easily. Wouldn't be surprised if Amazon offered to put their finger in the dike too. They already have a UPS style delivery system in place.
Methinks this is much ado about nothing.
The tone I get from the article is that the government is not worried about UPS - they are deathly afraid of Pinf off the Teamsters Union (which means they probably won't help UPS with a Taft Hartley injunction.)
