too many views in a short time

This sounds like a wierd compaint but I have noticed that I am getting way too many views for an item in a short amount of time. An example is I listed an item in clothing and withing a half an hour had 80 views. I have been selling on ebay for many years and within my category...womans clothing...this is not the norm. I have noticed this for about a week now. Is this happening to anyone else???

Shhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone. It may stop.

It could be because someone is sharing/posting your items on social media.

I just posted the same inquiry.    Someone turned the on bot knob waaay up.  Not normal at all.

So you, too have that red fiery thingy going strong ... like all at once there is a flurry of

viewers. If so, you're not alone.  We had that too. Started 2 months ago.

Whatever it is, as long your items sell. Viewers small or larger could come from

other social media as one poster stated.

Initially, we did a double take when seeing >80 views .... 

now, it's the new norm.  No matter, as long as the item sell!

Same exact thing is happening to me.  It started a few days ago -- suddenly random things would have like 50 viewers within a half hour.  It's happened to about 5 items of mine in total.  One happened yesterday.  It happens immediately after listing and then tapers off.  None have resulted in a sale.

I think a bot has gone bonkers.  I do not believe them to be actual viewers.

This unfortunate (fortunate) viewing frenzy must be happening to a random few.
Not on my items though. I have one which only has 5 and ending soon.

Real or fake views, won't mind having them come my way.

Why a unrealistic increase in views? Could it be eBay wants us sellers to think their excuse for reducing (by 50%) the Top Rated Seller discount is paying off? I wouldn't be surprised because lately eBay doesn't seem to think we're able to do much on our own.

Speaking of them thinking we can’t do much on our own... How about that new 'nag' messages? I especially like the one telling me I’ve got to ship by the next day. Something I’ve done as a matter of course... Without needing (or wanting) to be nagged about.

100% on-time shipping but now they think them 'nagging' me will improve my sales when what would ACTUALLY improve my sales (and their profit) would be more free listings... Ergo, it’s not happening.

Problems with views reported in last wk.......who knows if they are right/wrong.......

Ebay messages go out to everyone........you may not need a reminder about shipping on time/others may......why not just ignore it, if it doesn't apply to you, rather than get uptight about it?

I once listed a Captain Morgan Rum glass and couldn't for the life of me figure out why it was getting an inordinate number of views over a very short period. Then it dawned on me - I had Pirate at Ship's Wheel in the title and at the time Ship's Wheels (the real thing) were a "hot" item for using as chandeliers.

No one ever said eBay's search engine was smart = )
