so i just got a message from a buyer, from the get go he was odd. I will just start from the beginning as it may play into the buyer. so i had a tool and for some reason eBay charged him 13 dollars for a 6oz package first class mail. i noticed and refunded the guy the difference. he did not ask , i just noticed when shipping and messaged him, he sent back a thanks and a message saying i was waiting for you to post this for a long time. its been up for a long time. so i felt that off feeling right away.
so i shipped it out the same day the 17th. now today he write me i just want to let you know that the package said it was delivered the 17 and its been days and still has not arrived. well i dropped it off Friday and today is a holiday the post office was closed. i did get a delivery myself from usps but FedEx dropped it off. they often do in my area.
so i looked at the tracking and he is totally wrong. it does tho say it was delivered today. since i got a package has me wondering.
let me get into the messages. so i told him that info and that he may be mistaken on the date. i said it says it was delivered today a couple hours ago. he then tells me hes not home to check.
this is were it gets odder he then tells me ups does this all the time to him. well i shipped it usps i did not mention that to him yet. he then goes and sends another message. i was able to open a claim i hope they give me my money back. (now keep in mind i shipped it end of day friday. so he needs to allow some time.)
so i asked where did you make a claim on ebay he says thru ups. i then told him i shipped it USPS not ups.
so then he says yeah there was nothing in my mail i knew it was coming today so i have been checking all day.
so i then wrote him today is a new holiday that is federal this year and USPS is closed and not open today and also its late at night nothing i can do about it now. so just hold off with the messages and let me check what the post office in the morning when i go there. they can tell me within a 5 foot the coordinates it was scanned so they can tell if it was dropped at a neighbors house.
now i dont think he could have even made a claim as such a short time and it was first class mail no insurance it was a 15 dollar item.
i think he is trying to get me to give him his money back.
my question is. is there any protection for me cause the item does say delivered. but i should also note that i have had people mention this to me before but not in such a odd way. and it shows delivered and then the next day it will show delivered again.
i dont mind giving a refund to lost mail but he mentioned it happens all the time but i ship stuff out 20-30 a day between all my sell places and rarely seen that happen.
the way he is writing is as if he is drunk or dont speak good English.
