I am a seller as well as an active buyer on eBay, and lately, I have been seeing a lot of people doing drop shipping because of which most of the buyers on eBay have lost faith in it. Last week I bought this car snow scraper which I thought was the best price and after looking at the brand name, I looked it up online, and there is a company who is selling it for like $10 lesser. I do not know how can we selling good products when the entire market is so messed up. I mean most of the buyers these days look up the product information, and the first thing google shows up is shopping and what is the best price available.

Complaints about dropshipping from somebody who looks like they are drop shipping themselves.

“Drop shipping, where you(seller) fulfill orders directly from a wholesale supplier, is allowed. However, listing an item on eBay and then purchasing the item from another retailer or marketplace that ships directly to your customer is not permitted.”

You might be mistaken brun, I know there are a lot of people selling same stuff but I am not dropshipping.

For me the worst thing was the catalog photos.
Photos used to be originals. It showed you had the item in hand. You could spot the drop shippers with their thousands of items using the same 2 or 3 stock photos.

And Variation abuse ($2.99 for "gift box" in a $519.00 diamond ring listing) … also called "bait and switch" by buyers who hate the practice 😞

isn't it obvious that you cannot buy a diamond for $2.99 and if you want to gift it someone with a special box there is a price and option for it?

Its obvious that when somebody searches for diamond ring lowest price first, yours is going to be one of the lowest because of the trick you pull with the box.
Well some call it a trick, others call it bait & switch, I can't legally say what I think it is, the mods would get me

My argument against drop shipping is that I would NEVER trust someone else to ship for me. They may send the wrong thing, they may not ship at all, the item may be SNAD, etc. I learned early on to NEVER list anything I had not held in my own hand to make sure 1. you actually have it, 2. you accurately describe it.
and yes as you pointed out, if someone else is selling it for $10 less, I already bought it directly from them.
