Where do you plan to sell your 56 items that you have currently listed?
BTW eBay didn't make the 1099K rule. They just changed the threshold amount for issuing a 1099K set by the Internal Revenue Service (aka Big Brother).
Read this link to get a grip on what happened.

Do you really believe that eBay is responsible for income tax laws?

You got to love the politics. The rest of the world must think we're all crazy

Speaking for Canada, we do.

All selling venues will be losing small, partime sellers that do not want to start claiming their sales on income tax.
People think it is just eBay..... lol
After next summer we won't be seeing as many of these $600 whiny posts after the February, March and April rush.

Some people have more than one account. Another thought ebay is also losing if they're only going to limit you to 600 items. You could also open another account on another selling site. You're right there should be no limit to how many items you can list. Store or no store. Ebay is also missing out on a lot of extra revenue. I agree 100%

I received notification that Square (credit card processor) is also included. I had to verify my social security number with them.

We had to do ours with Venmo for local transactions, as we had used them in the past for same, so they indicated we had to update our account to keep using it for payments.

How many items any given seller can list is usually not an issue on Ebay. However Ebay does set restrictions on some sellers via Selling Limits which is based on dollar value of what the seller has sold. If any given seller has a need to have their selling limit increased, they just need to contact Ebay and ask.
When a seller desires to increase their selling limits, they are allowed to request an increase once every 30 days. Mark your calendar and every 30 days request an increase until you have your selling limit well above anything you think you will ever need. Below is a link to where you can go to ask for a selling limit increase. It is the third option in the link below.

With that said, the selling limits is not the subject of this thread.

Thank You for the information. I'm a fairly new seller I didn't realize this was possible.

Again, this is not eBay's rule. If you want to complain, contact your Congress rep or the IRS.
And there is no limit on how many items you can list, unless you are a new seller.

I find that interesting since the thread is about Taxes and the impact of the 1099K, no one brought up number of listings until your posts. However glad we could get it cleared up for you.

Somehow they got a little confused about this thread and for some reason thought we were talking about number of listings. They are clear now.

I am retired and don't make enought to file taxes. This might put me over the limit. That is why 20K was better then 600 .
