tactics for sending offers?

The other day I heard from someone who said I'd sent them an offer but they didn't respond in time. If you send offers do you have a strategy? In ot \her words, the best day  and/or time of day to send them? I've been doing it whenever I get around to it though this week I haven't done any and they are starting to pile up.

Hi @keziak

Offers last for 24 hours.  Depending on the item and category try to think like a Buyer and when they might be online looking for stuff.  I know weekends are a higher traffic time then during the week.  Back in 2016 eBay posted this splash page about ending Auctions on Sundays as one example of weekend activity.

Also, items with more Watchers may tend to sell better than those with say 1 or 2.

I use offers as the first way to discount my items before putting them on sale after a period of time. (30 days or so) After I send the offers out and wait a few days (after offers expire), i will consider discounting/putting the items on sale at the price of the offers i sent out. Repeat process. I do like to time my offers and sales/discounts on the weekend or holiday for the reason mr_lincoln has noted.

Just send them when you can on the items you wish to discount. The potential buyer has 24 hours to respond as mr_lincoln stated.

You should be able to look at the offer history of the item this person who missed out on and see if you actually sent them an offer.

Why can't the potential buyer just make an offer that you supposedly sent them rather than contacting you to send again?

Good point, maybe he didn't stop to think of it.

I run a lot of auctions on Sunday so I'll see if I can add some offers to the mix.

thanks all!

I send offers to buyers as soon as it is available, that way there's more of a chance that they are still on eBay browsing.
