something that has worked for me - not a question

Maybe you do this too but if not just an experience I am having.  Several times recently I have had success getting sales when I've auctioned X number of items in a large lot, then contacted the buyer to ask "want more of the same?" Usually they are keen for that. I create a "dummy" listing for them and provide the URL for the listing with a Buy Now price we negotiated. It isn't the road to wealth but saves me 25 cents for a new listing and the buyer doesn't have to deal with another auction.

I have a similar thing going (see all "Custom listing by sin-n-dex" listings in my solds). it's just a few buyers, but they send a list of a bunch of stuff they want, and they want a discount, but don't want to accept an offer on each item (costing me 40 cents plus they pay for shipping each time). I take the list and combine into a listing for the agreed price, post a photo of their stuff with not enough information to entice anyone else to snatch it up, and the buyer usually takes it within 10 minutes of me listing (we usually negotiate when it goes up so it's not sitting there for days).

I got one inquiry one time of someone wanting to see what was in the custom lot. I hurriedly messaged the buyer who wanted it to purchase quickly because someone else was eyeing the lot (it's usually a stack of tokens and the one showing is something I have in duplicate in case anyone buys the lot because they want the one showing), once the lot was sold I replied to the inquiry that I set up custom listings from store items to combine shipping and create a discount (generally 20% off, depends on the item). Tell them I can do this for them if there's a bunch of items they want.

So I kind of do what you're doing, usually this happens when someone buys a bunch of things, pays all the shipping it's asking for and messages me for a refund on shipping. Then I push the "custom lot" option in case they want a bunch of things again, but this way I can charge the right shipping.

I have a half dozen different sub specialties in which I will always have a bunch of similar for in my store. These are usually fairly light items.

I very regularly send messages like this "This isn't going to ship until tomorrow morning, if you buy any other (INSERT ITEM HERE) from me tonight then I will refund the shipping on the extra items and ship them with the first item."

Usually this doesn't get an answer, but it has a much higher success rate at moving multiples than literally anything else I have ever done. Including just putting a buy one get one free promotion on the entire store. have also had people go back and buy 12 more things out of the store after getting that message.
