Re: slow - slow - slow

I think as the country is slowly starting to open up again, more people are getting out and doing their shopping elsewhere instead of internet.  Hang in there...it will get better. I hope. ☺ Have a great day.

I think the love affair with our homes has come to a end. We all lost a year due to this virus and it's time to get out and go places and get back to living.

I spend more time working in the garden than working inside on the computer.  The summer is usually slow for me and then it picks up in the fall with back to school.

Re: slow - slow - slow

I think a lot of the slow sales for the last couple months is partially due to tax season.

A lot of people filed by the original April deadline, but it was extended to the middle of May, which was last week. Now their pockets are empty.

Plus with summer just around the corner and schools getting out, people are saving what they have left after taxes to take a much needed vacation.

My sales always slow down around tax season and summer.

Re: slow - slow - slow

Exactly as the others have said, I think it's a combination of people just wanted to get out and live again + summer time. Not as many people dependent on buying online.

And maybe also since those stimulus checks have all dried up now people also don't have 'disposable' income to blow on luxury items...

Re: slow - slow - slow

My sales have seriously slowed down, and trying to list them at a lower price is costing me money, its ridiculous. seems like im paying more out than what im getting in return..

Sales since May have come to a halt and was on fire all year... its like a new algorithm got injected and no traffic,  stats show 50% drop & haven't changed nothing out of the normal for listings

Re: slow - slow - slow

The following steps ebay has taken are slowing down sales significantly since buyers and even sellers no longer return to ebay for shopping and go to alternative stores and venues instead:

1. Sneaky VAT where you realize you must pay VAT only after you've already committed to buying the item(s).
2. Confusing interface and functionality where at the front listing it says "WE SHIP TO "COUNTRY NAME HERE" but when adding to a cart or committing to a sale all of a sudden it says something like CHANGE YOUR ADDRESS in order to have it shipped to you. The seller confirms they do not ship to your country.
3. In the middle of the item listing  other items are being listed for sale, making finding the item info difficult to concentrate on. Scrolling down from top to bottom the item for sale information is scattered and interrupted by other listings.
4. Sellers now MUST allow ebay to withdraw funds from their bank accounts and no other payment alternatives are allowed. Which is a safety concern.
5. Other issues with functionality and interface that often do not make sense and disrespect the buyer.

Since around year 2000 I have stopped selling on ebay and I kept shopping on ybiai in a minimal volume, only for the very necessary items that I really needed and could not find elsewhere. Yet this year I finally stopped using ebay 100%, because of # 1 and # 4.

Re: slow - slow - slow

I don't think convid plandemic has any involvement in slow ebay sales. It is rather issues such as sneaky VAT, mandatory direct debit, etc.

Re: slow - slow - slow

Here it is almost 1 year later and sales have come to a complete stop. Inflation should be driving people to eBay for cheaper items. Also shipping cost have drastically impacted my sales. This may be the final nail in the coffin.

Re: slow - slow - slow

No this wont stop you from selling on Ebay. You will take it on the chin and keep coming back for more and Ebay knows it. Selling on Ebay becomes a routine and humans don't like their routine changed. You may not agree but its life. Dont worry, Ebay fees will be going up shortly.

Slow doesn't worry me.  I was slow last week.  Today I've shipped seven packages.

Re: slow - slow - slow

Anytime Ebay makes a change, it seems to dd to Ebay's bottom line as to really trying to increase sales. Example, sales down, promotional % increase. In addition, they would have the dollar value of that % listed so could adjust your selling price: now they dropped the dollar value. In my mind they think that we are ignorant and treat us as such (seller/buyer). They have developed an environment of non-trust. No give on their behalf, all take. Sooner or later that catches up to you. When sales re down don't increase %'s. Work together. Which is not going to happen. If anyone else feels like this, let's hear your opinion.
