We all know the 30 day auctions have been removed and replaced with auto renewing auctions. My issue is I dont want to rack up seller fees so I stick to my 50 free listings per month. Before the 30 day auctions ended ebay gave me 200 free listings and I used them. Well to avoid the autorenew ($60.00) on those I ended them 6-12 hours before the 30 days. This dropped my seller performance to below standard. I've always had a great seller performance. Now Im being told my FVF's will be higher and my auctions will be at the bottom of the search results. My question is how can I end an auction early without hurting my performance? When I ended some auctions I used out of stock as the reason. Not sure why this hurts my seller rating since nobody is effected. There were no bids or sales. All my items ship out in 1 day and I always include tracking. Im sure there is a way to end an auction without hurting myself.

This seems to be a highly confusing topic. Please shed some light on it. Do non-stores get a defect or not when ending a listing (auction or GTC) in order to stop it from being relisted? And with or without following the 12 hour rule?
Thanks.

Hi @derrickanddawn, I encourage you to review your Seller Dashboard for the details of why you may have fallen Below Standard. This would not be related to ending your listings earlier than the scheduled end date, but instead would be related to the details outlined on your Seller Dashboard the the reports available there.

It's the OOS that hurt you. If you ended every listing with out of stock, you get a defect for that. Ending listings with out of stock can cost you your selling privileges, sorry.
I knew you got a defect for canceling an order using OOS, but I didn't know you would get one for just ending the listing using OOS as the reason.
Having to give a reason to end a listing, is that just for non stores.
I hear people talking about that and I've never had to give a reason to end a listing, so I didn't know if that had to do with having a store or not.
When you end an active listings all you do is click end and submit. You do not choose any reason for ending. The only time you would choose a reason is if the seller cancelled an unshipped transaction and choosing OOS.
Good Luck Selling!

Are you inferring that a "BIN" is a "fixed price" GTC listing, or are you referencing an "Auction" with a BIN.?
Seems "auctions" have always needed a reason to be given when ending early.

Always good to see factual information.

Buy - I only included one screenshot. Auction 7 day and GTC Listings both show those options.
OK thanks. I have yet to be presented with having to select a reason for cancelling a GTC listing. This will be a serious problem if it becomes the norm.
