Paypal does not use a gmail address...did you text or email this criminal? The "include gift card" scenario typically only appears when you communicate off the eBay site first. eBay sellers can no longer accept payments in their PayPal account. A buyer must use eBay Checkout or send you a phony payment notification in hopes you fall for the scam.

Your are not going to receive one cent. That person is a liar and a thief. This is a scammer and scam attempt. Block this person and ignore any further response.

List all your items at a fixed buy it now price with immediate payment required checked off. Sport bidders and non - paying bidders steer clear of these listings as they must pay instantly. Remove the best offers as well or you will continue to be hounded by these scammers.
Good luck and Happy Selling.

Anytime that a buyer tells you to buy something, it's a scam. You are here to sell, right? You are not here to buy stuff for other people. If the scammer writes, let him know that you have reported him to ebay. Block him from bidding. If he won the item already, wait exactly 96 hours and 1 minute and CANCEL with the excuse BUYER DID NOT PAY.
NOW did you give him your email address? If yes, you are about to be bombarded with fake emails from paypal. Remember, they are ALL scams. Sellers NEVER ever know how a buyer pays. The payment will be in MY EBAY. If you do not see it in MY EBAY, you did not get paid. If you do NOT know what My Ebay is that means that you know virtually nothing about ebay and here you are trying to sell pricey items. STOP listing and learn something about ebay. Start reading the many helpful posts here.

Did this "friend" happen to be a Nigerian prince who entertains himself by playing video games while he's waiting to be reinstated to his rightful place on the country's throne?

I love how these scammers add a touch of humanity to their bait "It's for a friend!" LOL - obviously didn't fool the OP, though!

That is the classic Russian wedding scam. It's made quite a comeback. I suppose pole lamps and bell bottoms will come come back too. I got it's name as the items were gifts for a wedding in Russia. Over time, the scammers did change the "window dressing " some to other events.

Life happens. Don't bed shame.
I'd buy from an honest background pic before a staged picture. At least the OP is real as it gets.
