I track my sales Quartey and yearly in the morning I always like to look how I am doing compared to last year sales so I generated the sales report "this year" and compared it to "same time last year" and found my net was down 21% from last year and my gross was up by 5%. my gross was correct, and my net number was correct but the 21% down was wrong. after looking into it 90% of my shipping labels purchased in 2022 on ebay are gone which is making my net Hier for 2022 which cause my net percentage to be way off. Is this happening to anybody else?

I understand what i am comparing it is apples to apples it is the same time frame from last year to the same time frame this year. The problem that has occurred is that my shipping labels that I purchased threw Ebay last year 2022 are no longer in the totals they have disappeared this happened last night they were there yesterday.

Many sellers are experiencing the same thing this summer. Hopefully come the fall as we move into the Holiday season things pick up significantly.

If you are only looking at the $ value with regards to your quarter and yearly results then you are only seeing part of the picture. A lot of people focus on the $'s but those numbers can be different. While the following is not exact it will give you an idea of how one number impacts the other.
Quarter 1 - 10 Items Sold
Gross during quarter - $1,000
Items Sold -20
Shipping labels - 20
Shipping cost per label $10
EBay Fees - $132.50
Standard Fee - $6.00
Net = $1,000 - ($200 + $138.50)
Net = $661.50
Quarter 2 - 2 Items Sold
Gross during quarter - $1,000
Items Sold - 2
Shipping labels - 2
Shipping cost per label $10
EBay Fees - $132.50
Standard Fee = $.60
Net = $1,000 - ($20 + $133.10)
Net = $846.90

sorry you miss understood the problem all the shipping labels that were purchased threw Ebay in 2022 and went back to 2021 are not showing up any more as an expense in Ebay fee column it happened last night. This is what is messing up the report.

I'm beginning to understand why many sellers don't waste their time typing descriptions 😂

There is no good reason for a seller NOT to write a complete and detailed description. For those that don't, maybe that is the cause of low sales. Buyers don't understand exactly what is being sold and in what condition.

It’s starting to pick up more this month. I think the people are starting to loosen up their belts as far as spending again. Hope this continues to be the trend instead of what we have seen this year with people afraid to spend.

Yes, I can see what you are referring to. The Seller Hub Sales Report is not reporting and calculating shipping labels purchased for many months of 2022. Therefore, Selling Costs are not correct, which in turn throws off the Net Sales data reported when compared to last year's sales.
I use my spreadsheets, so I did not notice this until I saw your post and checked my report. Looks, to me, like a technical issue. Sometimes these types of issues will resolve over time.

This should be reported in the technical issues forum. It may be a temporary glitch with the database or something. But, if not, I'm sure they'd like to know.

If that is the case then I suspect as mcdougle4248 mentioned it is a technical issue. While I don't buy a lot of my labels through eBay for various reasons. I pulled my transaction reports for both 2021 and 2022 and all the shipping label costs are still there.

Yes...this is happening to me!! It's only showing what I paid for shipping labels from 11/27/22-12/31/22 and not including the rest of 2022. So it's making my net sales for 2023 compared to 2022 year to date look way off. Hoping it's something eBay fixes soon. I'd like to be able to trust the report I pull from the site but now I'm very skeptical!

Just a few comments to this discussion, after I fill out all those item specific descriptions, I then write a full description in the section provided. Like duplicate work and I believe it is not always read based on the questions I get.
Also, my views are way up from last month , but no sales. I know it is summer and people are away and not sitting home and buying on eBay but this CRAZY! Thank goodness for the international buyers as that is where most of my sales are.
