return shipping fee

Buyer posted negative feedback because they did not receive their return shipping fee. Here are the details of my letter to Ebay Customer service after they refused to remove the negative feedback.
Dear Ebay Customer Service,

I have shared this transaction with many of Ebay telephone employees, Ebay customer service, and Ebay complaints division. Everyone that spoke to me on the phone agreed that the negative feedback should be removed. Why do you disagree with your own employees?

Here is the bottom line.
The buyer was immediately refunded their entire payment after returning the LP to me.

I requested to Ebay several times to refund the buyer his return shipping fee of $5.22.

The buyer never received his return shipping fee.
So, the buyer posted negative feedback regarding the failure to refund his return shipping fee.

I sent the return shipping fee to the buyer over a week ago by mail.
The buyer will not communicate with me or Ebay. They cannot speak English.
I sent a feedback revision request to the buyer.

You should review these points and remove the negative feedback.
Please try to communicate with buyer again by phone or message.
Ask them if they received the return shipping fee from the seller.

Rectify the problem and stand up for me as an honored and respected seller.
I do not deserve negative feedback for this.
Regards.

Re: return shipping fee

@spinologist

posting your full name here on these boards is not a good idea.

what is even worse is posting your full name and phone # in feedback for the entire world of scammers to see.

Re: return shipping fee

Why do you think Ebay sould refund the buyers return shipping charge?

If you want to refund the shipping charge, you have to do that.

Why would you send their refund as cash through the mail?

You have no proof you refunded and buyer could ask Ebay to step in and get another refund.

Have a great day.

Re: return shipping fee

Sorry you are going through this but there are some issues with what you did and how to correct this issue in the future. For your negative to get removed you must officially appeal it with Ebay. Did you ask Ebay through the system to look at it? Not through Customer Service but through the system. If you filed an appeal and were denied then there is nothing more you can do as far as the negative. It will stand. You can however change your listings return to "30 days w/seller pays for shipping." That way when something like this happens you can say you at least are offering returns. Right now you offer no returns even though the buyer was allowed to return the item. Next and this could have been a mistake or just an act of courtesy which is a nice thing on your part. Sending cash in the mail without the approval of the buyer is just doing a good deed. You can't say though I will refund you the $5.22 in exchange for feedback revision. That is against policy. Also as another person commented including personal information is against policy and I would suggest figuring out how to have that phone number removed. One other thing I do want to point out is customer service isn't here. This is a community of your peers where you ask for advice and we answer questions. We have no power on what Ebay does.

Re: return shipping fee

If you want the customer to remove their negative feedback, you need to send them a "feedback revision" request.

I want to caution you....it is against EBAY rules to include your name and phone number in your feedback or Seller chat room.   This is a public forum and you could be subjected to harassment by strangers.
