For the last few months, I have received request for returns. Soon as I receive it on that day. Ebay sent the customer the refund and they get to keep my item and there was nothing wrong with the item. I don't get a chance to respond. What is going on? Is there any way to fix this.

A customer initiates a return.
You accept the return and pay for a return shipping label.
The buyer sends the item back.
When the tracking shows the item was returned to you, you have 3 days to refund.
If you do not refund, ebay will refund the customer for you.
If you followed all of these steps, what you described will not happen.

Is your account set to automatically refund buyers and not require a return?
Check your return policies.

How often are you checking your account?......Ebay gives you longer that 1 day to respond.........

Do check your account settings, as kensgiftshop suggested.
I do have mine set to refund immediately for under a certain amount, not worth the shipping to return.
So, you have options.

Thanks for your response. That is the way it used to happen with me. Now Ebay is sending the refund in the same day. I see where a refund was asked for and a refund was sent out automatic thew Ebay.

That is the way it used to happen I will check my return policy again. I just had a return on a pair of shoes. the lady said they were too small. Ebay sent her a refund before I could respond. And said she could keep the item. 😣

I know eBay used to say in their policy that sometimes an item isn't returned to the seller. One reason was if the seller didn't accept the return or provide a return label. Having a no returns policy could cause them getting a refund and keeping the item. Then eBay also said at times eBay automatically decides the outcome and doesn't allow the seller to decide.
The wording of the polcy has changed to not specifically point that out but I believe it still applies.
If you accept returns you have to accept a return for any reason, so not sure why you weren't allowed to accept the return and refund when it's returned.
