New to ebay-had a request for additional information on listed item, no contact or payment information is being shared. When I respond to the question, I keep getting: " appears your message contains contact or payment information which is not allowed under our Member-to-member contact policy. For the safety of our users, we require all communication and all payments remain on the eBay platform.{e243262-1259501x}"

"New to ebay-had a request for additional information on listed item..."
What type of information were you discussing in messages?

Do not take this possible sale or transaction off of the eBay platform. Did you add your email address? Did the person you're communicating with ask you for it? Did they provide a phone number for texting or email address? Taking the sale off of the eBay platform will void you of the eBay seller protection feature. If the perspective customer requests you to text them, send them your paypal address or add a gift card, you are being set up for a scam. New sellers are targets. Please be smart and careful.

The only way people here could possibly figure out what the issue is would be if you post the text of the message you are trying to send.

If I get a request for additional info I add it to the listing. Do that and email the potential buyer of same.

Ok, good. Don't ever reach out off of the eBay platform. It can have dire consequences.
Happy Selling.

May I have the permission to use your very eclectic word "befuzzled" in my next conversation? Chances are it will be with my kids. lol

You might try rewording your reply and put the details in a different order. Sometimes if you have too many digits within a few sentences then the filters detect what looks like a phone number or similar. Using trigger words like 'email' or 'address' might also raise flags.

If you're getting that error message when all you're doing is adding the width of the item, what you need to do is first add the width to the listing, then figure out what's going on so you can respond to the message.
Best way I have found is to reach out to ebay on X. They have been very responsive to me.
Send a short direct message describing your issue and give your account name. They will reply back with a way to verify your account before proceeding.
You can also reach out on Facebook and Instagram, but when I tried Instagram they were unresponsive.

Are you using your phone or personal email to respond? You have to log-in to your ebay account to answer questions. I get denials every now and then when I try to answer email directly from an ebay alert in my email box.
