Hello,
Guys, help me understand...
As of today, it is still prohibited to list hand sanitizers for sale for me. Yet, there are 100's of listings with hand sanitizers out there in eBay galaxy.
When this issue was addressed, I was told the listings I saw were from "authorized" sellers.
When I asked how to become one, this is the response I was given:
Agent: "The approval process is automated. If you meet the requirements to sell, you will not be blocked from listing these items. To see if you can be approved, attempt to list one of the restricted items in the appropriate category. If you are blocked, you are not allowed to sell. "
Me: "so there is NO specific rules and regulations as to how the sellers become the authorized sellers?"
Agent: "Absolutely correct. I know that you really wanted to sell those items, however to be an authorize seller there's no any specific requirements you need to meet. Only the system can detect if you are eligible or not. "
Someone has to set up the system to detect.... And nobody knows how the system function? Am I loosing my mind or what?

Authorized were party's selling at the time of the restriction.
None after are never authorized...

As I recall the announcements, proclamations, discussions and clarifications at the time (over a year ago--around March of 2020), if a seller had a history of offering these kinds of items on a consistent basis with a good volume of sales, they were allowed to continue listing them. Sellers who just popped up with a few bottles to sell, when their usual listings were for used clothing, for example, were prohibited from jumping into the hand sanitizer/anti-bacterial wipes/toilet paper market.
There were hoards of scamming sellers--some who'd never sold before--coming up with listings for $100 bottles of Purell. Those listings were removed.
The policy seems to make perfect sense to me, especially as we are seeing increased numbers of positive COVID cases and the upcoming annual flu season.
If you have hand sanitizer you'd like to sell online, you'll have to find another venue to do that.

Should have just left them on the shelves.
If things don't get any better, you might be glad you have them.
