Ebay - why must you put this on every listing I end? It hurts both of us. Buyers don't think to search for a 'new' listing... thus I don't get the sale (if there were to be one) and you don't get the fee. There are reasons other than "The Item is No Longer Available" that we end a listing. It should just read "This listing was ended by the seller". PERIOD. And while I'm at it... shipping should be 'included' and not 'free'. The majority of (my) buyers truly believe there's a shipping fairy out there that delivers their packages for free. Oh... and one more thing... please stop throttling me.

If you are worried about not getting the sale, then why are you ending the listing?

I'm not 'worried' about getting the sale. Those who 'watch' for an extended period of time are tire-kickers. Occasionally like to start fresh with a new date rather than one that is many months old. I'm just mentioning that 'no longer available' isn't always true.

Doesn't it still show that you relisted it anyway?
Also, you can if you wish edit the title and photo to basically make the listing be for nothing right before you end it.

It's my understanding that when a closed listing is relisted, any watchers get an email.
I know I've had some for tires I have been kicking.
Watchers watch.
Buyers buy.

I end my GTC listings also and I don't "relist." I relist as "sell similar."

Only if you 'relist', but usually I 'Sell Similar".

I believe it just says "The seller relisted this item" in your 'Watched' folder. I have never received an email for that.

I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about, but buyers don't see your start date on listings to know how old it is. It only shows to you.

I'm aware of that... but the algorithms see it as a new listing.

Usually do a "sell similar" if I end one for some reason - buy typically will revise or tweak it first before ending and/or do a sale promotion to see if it moves, etc.
And lately, "tweaking" really has just involved item specifics and it has worked really well for overall sales.
Good luck to you. Doubt sincerely a Buyer even reads or cares about e-bay's reference to the listing ending/no longer available. Slow for many right now, so hang in there. A lot of factors that likely have nothing to do with the "bay" at the moment. All the best!

If you are worrying about what eBay displays to me on the buying side of things.
I think your time would be better spent worrying about what eBay displays to me
form a live listing.
