"LIST ON THESE WORLDWIDE EBAY SITES" Anyknow know about this under site preferences??

So if you go to site preferences then select "list on these worldwide ebay sites"

It pulls up a list of like 25 countries you can select for it to list your items on.  Anyone have any idea what it does if you select these or if it costs money?

Any input would be great, i called ebay but the CS seemed pretty useless. He told me it must be brand new, yet when you google the phrase you can see people asked the same question in this chat over 3 years ago.

Thanks guys, and goodluck!

I think its more of just pay to play.I was a turbolister until saturday and I noticed it when I started writing auctions with seller hub.My sales are about 30 percent international,at least 10 a week go overseas.I know my customers are looking at my goods, shelling out more money for more countries is a lotta bull if you ask me,its sorta like promoted listings, isn`t that what we pay for in the 1st place

International site visibility(fees may apply)

Select an additional eBay site where you'd like this listing to appear

Additional eBay site
-eBay UK

the above is what I see when writing a listing.I had forgotten that this is also in the site preferences.I took a look and the only thing listed with the arrow drop down box  is UK.I sell to Europe all the time so I have no idea who sees what

I suspect that would sign you up for a program called WebInterpret, which duplicates your listings on all of those other websites. You are charged listing fees and selling fees according to the rules on that website.

You have to meet the seller requirements in those countries, and if you are a business seller (or qualify as such under European law), then you have to meet and comply with the Distance Selling Requirements if youa re going to sell to any European country or the UK. This goes well beyond the return requirements that sellers must comply with on eBay USA. You will be expected to ship to all of those countries. I don't know how they figure out international shipping costs.

You should search the Community for "Webinterpret" and view the posts and threads to get an idea of what this company does. They don't have a very good reputation, I'm afraid.

When eBay first rolled them, they used scam techniques to trap sellers into the program. For example, if you clicked on the link to find out more, you were automatically enrolled in the program whether you wanted to be or not. There was no warning that you were being enrolled. Sellers found that their fees skyrocketed without warning, and it was very difficult to get out of the scam contract.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend having anything to do with any company that would use scam techniques like Webinterpet does. I don't think it says much for companies that promote their scam services, either.

It sounds like WebInterpret, as the above poster mentioned.

If it is indeed related to WebInterpret, please do NOT trust it. There's many horror stories on the forums here of those who used it, including some very high profile sellers.

As far as I know it has nothing to do with web interpret.

I see other posters asked the same question over 3 years ago before the whole web interpret situation.  I am not sure what it is, but it does not seem related to the third party web interpret.  I don't think ebay could sign you up and have you start using a 3rd party program....but as I type this I realize they did this. haha

Anyone actually know what this does? For Alan and Trinton please read my original post. I already called ebay and the CS there first told me it is brand new, then when I told him people posted the same image over 3 years ago he backtracked and told me something else. Any info on this page and what it does would be greatly appreciated!

I think it is webinterpret. You do not want to use them.

The fees are horrible. They got me and tried to charge

me I think it was $85.00 a month plus a percentage.

Took me over a month. To get it corrected

I only list on the US site. Yet about 20-25% of my sales come from international buyers. I see no need to pay extra to list on other sites when the US site is doing just fine internationally.

Nothing new with this feature its been around for years. I live in Sydney have listed on eBay.com eBay.Ca before and currently list on eBay UK. The advantage is if you have unique items people in other countries are more likely to buy in their own currency. i.e. I sell in pounds sterling so I get a lot more UK buyers than if I sold on eBay Oz. It's good depending where you want your target audience to be. You have to pay international selling fee to do it but you can gain a lot of buyers in the site you list on. Also you must have a slower shipping policy if you do sell on international eBay sites. Its also possible to source from other eBay sites I source from eBay France often.

Hi @brettyg599 - Trinton and Alan are both out of the office, but I think I can help. 🙂

Though the WebInterpret idea is a really solid one, it's not quite right. This site preference is a throwback to Selling Manager/Pro - the check boxes let you select on which sites you'd like that tool available.

Though widely replaced by Seller Hub at this point, the preference is still there (not sure why).

Thanks!

Hi Brett, just to clarify, you are not talking about the shipping exclusion chart in Site Preferences, are you? Countries and continents are shown with check boxes next to them. When a box is ticked, then that specific region or country is excluded from that seller's worldwide eBay audience. Go to My Ebay> Summary> Account tab> Account Preferences> Site Preferences> Scroll to Shipping Preferences, click Edit> Scroll to Exclude Shipping Locations, click Edit> Next page is the List of continents and countries to exclude. Make selections, click Save.
