An ebay customer rep recently suggest I opt in to "Business Policies" to help streamline my listing process. Could other sellers who have used this feature tell me if it is useful or not? I'd appreciate any input on its pros and cons. Thanks!

complete mess, opt out or you will go insane.
What does Biz Policies do?
They store every single shipment method you ever used and every single one of those will be on your create listing page under shipping section...and the way they list them will just be a huge pain in the **bleep** when creating a listing. In short, Biz Policies are a nightmare, since they started them almost 2 years ago they have not cleaned it up, made it better, or listened to anything sellers have said. But if you like a complete mess of things, go ahead, opt in. That's all IMO of course, take it as you will.

DO NOT OPT IN - They forced my account into these policies which was a nightmare! Everything you thought was simple and easy to do with shipping and returns turns into the biggest headache on the planet. The Customer support people can not help and you will go insane.
I found the little opt out button they purposefully make tiny and hard to find and finally am back to normal.
I strongly recommend staying far away from Business Policies.

I've been using them for awhile and like them.
If I have to change anything, I just update the policy and it updates all the listings associated with that policy.

I've been using them for a few years. I have several shipping polices, to cover different classes of shipping, with the one I use most designated as the default. The rest is easy. Not sure why this is a nightmare for anyone.

I’ve been using business policies for years. It’s only useful for certain types of eBay sellers, not all. If you sell a bunch of one offs and vary a lot in price, size, weight, etc… then it probably isn’t for you. I like it a lot, but I’m okay with organized chaos.
PROS
very useful for high volume sellers who sell similar types of items.
saves a lot of time in revising your listings by creating profiles for each section of your listing.
CONS
steep learning curve.
not executed very well by eBay. There are are few actions and buttons that don’t make sense (I just don’t use them).
can be very chaotic and cluttered (like one member said) if you don’t keep on top of it and stay organized. You’d have to be okay with a bit of chaos to save time. No one ever said backend needs to be nice and neat, as long as you’re making sales.
VERY difficult to opt out of if you have a high volume of listings. You’ll need to re-vamp all the listings again as they may have been pushed into weird shipping/payment/return terms since it’s no longer associated with your BP profiles.

I found myself auto opted in on one of my accounts and it was a mess!
I finally opted out and have been happy with my choice to do so.

I find them to be a huge time saver.
