About this time every month recently I'd gotten one of those 500 free listing promotions, but haven't this month. Not griping, just wondering if others got one. I'm going ahead and pushing auctions anyway, always hoping something will sell. It's been slow-going though.

I haven't received that promo this month so am just using the 250 BIN - some auction, moving some to other venues and letting the rest sit. Few things are selling anyway so I'm not wasting the money.

Nothing yet. Though I've become more anxious since GTC was introduced. If you use any freebies to do fixed price listings, you have to really be watchful lest you run over your 250 FP limit a month later by forgetting that you have more GTC to end early.

The promos are given pretty much at random. It's usually 2 a month but can be 1 or 3. June I got 0 (first time). They may be cutting back.

I haven't had one since February, guess they don't want me anymore.

Wife's account got a 100 promo this month, and a 200 promo last month. My selling accounts got crickets.
My buying account often gets promos for free listings:)
Edit: got $5 off $10 or more coupon on both selling accounts. Used them both.

I have been getting promos to get me back to selling, (despite the myth that I have never sold) not this month, though, I would say possibly the last few months. IIRC one was no FVFs?, reduced FVFs, extra free listings, etc. There might have been a few others. I always accept whatever offer they send so offers do not stop coming because I think if you don't accept, your offers may stop coming.
But I would say it has been awhile since I have received one; I don't think any came through this month.

I went through a time where I wasn't getting them, either, and I went into Preferences and unclicked and then reclicked to allow promotions and then they started coming again. You won't know right away if this works, though, but apparently it reset that.

I've only had 100 once this month and only for one account.
July is kinda slow month anyways.

I haven't in a month or two. I don't depend on them for anything, though, so when a promo happens, it happens. If not, I just list what I'm going to list. Generally I only list out of season stuff on promos and it's easy to end whatever didn't sell once the month is up because they'll all be clustered over the few days that the promos generally are active.

Most promos that I get start on Tue or Thur - the last one ran from 7/11-7/15.

Just got a 500 one, still only on the one same account as last time.

It could be due to the cost cutting that Ebay is doing in marketing. The CEO has stated when announcing both quarters numbers that Ebay has made the decision to cut back on their marketing expense while at the same time looking at more ways to get more money from the current sellers even though sales are dropping. He has mentioned the use of Promoted Listings as one method they are increasing their revenues. Managed Payments was mentioned as another method they plan on using to increase revenue and they did just announce a fee increase in that program of $0.30 per transaction on an invoice. So if a buyer purchases 2 different items on one invoice, starting in October Ebay will not only charge the 2.7% discount fee but will also collect $0.30 for each of the transactions on the invoice compared to Paypals $0.25 total transaction charge. They also have not mentioned anything about matching Paypals Micropayment account which is really great for Sellers whose items are $12 or under on average. If they do not institute that account type this will also end up digging deeper into the current sellers pocket when they are entered into Managed Payments.
I believe that Ebay used to charge the expense of free listings into their marketing categories which they now want to reduce dramatically, so i am guessing that you are going to be seeing less and less of the free listing specials and that buyers will probably be seeing fewer 15 to 20% discounts programs run as that does also cost Ebay marketing money.
Ebay has been much more selective on who gets the free listings as they are usually aimed at Sellers who do not have a store and once they get used to being able to list that many items that they may open a store when they no longer get all the freebies. This last statement is more speculation than known fact, but Ebay has decided to cut their marketing expense regardless of how much it hurts sales. They are focused much more on digging deeper and deeper in their current sellers pockets. which in the long run is not as sustainable method to run a business.

Received the 500 free this morning.
Interesting that it also includes fixed price listings this time. Usually, the 2nd promotion of the month is only for auctions.
