Greetings,
As a new seller on Ebay based from Canada (selling automotive parts and accessories) , I have ran into a range of problems. I would like to get to know your opinions regarding a few of such problems. I'm not here to complain, just to get some insight from more experienced individuals regarding these issues.
The first problem is that the search engine returns a TON of $0.01 results. I understand bidding is a fundamental aspect of how Ebay works, but these $0.01 listings with crazy amounts charged for shipping are clearly marketing techniques intended for some sort of feedback and/or search result manipulation. How can one compete with such sellers cluttering the search results?
Secondly, I am not based in the US but my goal is to be able to advertise and sell my products to a majority of US based customers. I am able to compete with US sellers in terms of price + shipping costs since I am using an alternative shipping service, but I am not able to advertise (create a US campaign) for my listings. Is there any way to overcome this issue? I would love to be able to advertise my listings to the US customers on Ebay.
My third and last issue for now, is the problem of building feedback. My listings are at competitive prices and have gotten a decent amount of "clicks", but I fear my lack of seller's feedback is scaring my potential customers away. While I understand the fact that an item does not immediately sell does not mean much, the fact that I lack feedback in comparison to many of my competitors is certainly an issue. How can I increase my sellers feedback in a reasonable amount of time without having to resort to any of the manipulation techniques such as the $0.01 listings used by many of my competitors?
Thank you for reading, have a wonderful day 🙂

For your last issue: One way to build feedback is to actually buy stuff on eBay. They don't have to be expensive items but I've always found everytime I've bought something on eBay I had a sale myself. Your positives from purchase you make will build trust for buyers. I also recommend placing please leave 5 star feedback stickers in all orders you get.

You may get some answers here.......but I would also post on the Canadian Board.
I'm unclear as to whether you are asking HOW to post on US ebay or whether you want your Canadian listing to show on US Ebay, there is a difference.
Also unclear as to whether you've ever sold on ebay at all, just to know where to start with advice. If you already have Canadian listings, simply adding the US as a shipping option, should make your items show for US buyers.
As to the 1c stuff......not knowing the category, my general thought would be first to check to see what actually sells, and secondly to avoid listing the same items, if the 1c stuff actually dominates the sales of that item......
just my thoughts
