Did you mean:

postage

I sold an item today and the sales tax was deducted and the transaction fees.  My questions is:

Are the shipping costs included in the transaction fees?  If not, how do I get reimbursed for them as I included box dimensions, etc. in my listing?

Your buyer reimburses you for shipping cost, by paying whatever you specify on the listing.

If you chose to list it with "free shipping" for the buyer, then they reimburse you absolutely nothing.

Re: postage

I am not sure why it was listed as free shipping but I guess I need to be more careful in the future.

{snip}

I thought shipping was free service of the USPS.

If you thought that "free shipping" meant the USPS provided their service free of charge, then clearly you must been aware that you listed it with "free shipping"  ...   🤔

The reason it is confusing is because the old "Classic View" screen from years ago was user friendly and simple to use.  Now, every year, new updates are instituted and people, especially those who are not tech savvy (mostly seniors), find it difficult to navigate.

I'm both a senior and I am by no means tech savvy.  It is human nature to resist change.  But change is something that happens to us in all walks of our life all the time.  We have to adapt.  If the site would have stayed the same as it was a couple of decades ago, they would have gone out of business long ago.  Moving forward is the only viable direction for any business.

The Seller Hub is more complicate, that can't be denied, but it is extremely useful and full of information if one takes the time to just visit it and poke around a bit.  I didn't like it at first either.  But once I realized how much information I had at my fingertips, I began to appreciate it more and more.

Then I discovered I could rearrange the tiles into the order I find important.  That just made it so much easier for me to use.  There is a customize button on the upper right side of the Seller Hub.  It will enable you to drag the tiles into any order that is best for you.

I wish you well in whatever you decide to do.
