partial refund

offering a partial refund is fine but waiting for an answer is not good

if you are going to make a partial refund you should just do it while also accecpting the return

if you make a partial refund from MP before the claim is open you will never have to pay back more than the cost.the buyer can either accept the money and fade away or send the item back

I would make the decison asap.you can lose the case for not responding

I am also unsure if you can make a partial refund when the case has been opened but you shoud say yes to the return quickly....waiting on a response that migh not ever happen can be very bad for a seller

If buyer opens claim "not as described" you are supposed to give full refund (plus shipping BOTH ways).   Why would customer agree to "partial refund"?

You only have a couple days after you received item to issue a refund....EBAY will step in and give them full refund "if you don't refund money in a timely manner".

Good luck with your problem..

Actually @dcardsr1 of the two, you can only choose Accept the return or Offer a partial refund.

When you've committed to the latter, you're held hostage with no further action available as the buyer has 21 business days (until the case automatically closes from its start) to either Accept or Decline your offer.

If the buyer accepts the offer, eBay issues the partial refund, and the case closes. But if the buyer declines your partial refund offer, you would resume to the remaining options. However, your buyer can immediately (giving you no reaction time) or you can eventually click to Ask eBay to swing on by.

@dcardsr1

The seller only has three days to accept the return and pay return shipping.

The buyer can ask Ebay to step in now and they'll probably refund the buyer from your account and let them keep the item.

Have a great day.

If you wait to long you will lose both.  At this point you should accept the return if that is what the buyer wanted in the first place.
