I mostly do auctions without best offer but thought I would give it a try so this is out of my zone , but I had an item I am selling for a friend -auction with best offer. It was listed for 10 days and within 1 min of the item ending I got 2 offers. Both were low and I would not have taken them but they came in with 1 min and 0 mins of the auction ending . Question is - is this a glitch that ebay or third party is treating it as a last min bid or were they not shown until the last min or do these two people think that I would be waiting at 2 mins to go for an offer to come in? Just curious if other people are seeing something like this

Were the offers lower than your opening bid???

People are looking to grab the item for less than the auction starting bid.
Hoping you are desperate to sell.
They have no clue how "best offer" works.
Some people think all the offers are gathered and at the end the person offering the most win.
They dont realize there is a time limit and a person decides to accept or not.

As I said I would not have accepted them

I have submitted offers with 15 minutes left on best offer items. I do not remember if the listing was a auction / best offer or just a Buy It Now with Best Offer? What I can tell you is the specific item I am referring to EXPIRED and the SELLER was able to ACCEPT the offer even though the listing had expired. I think he accepted within an hour or 2 after the listing ended. I do not know how long sellers can accept offers after they expire but they can based on my experience.

I thought about reaching out with a counter but my message said the item was expired for both buyers . I might try now to see what happens

Offers automatically expire when the listing ends.

Not true, if you read my post I have had sellers accept offers after the listing expired.

Also. sometimes messages don't come through right after they are sent. It can be hours, even a day between the time the offer was sent and when it arrived in your messages.

A glitch-probably not; late to the party, maybe; clueless, maybe; thought they would give it a last minute shot no matter what, maybe. -edit, what myboardid said too.
speculation only
