First scenario - I would let the non pay case run its course, close it, and block her. I do understand family emergencies, but in the time it took to email you she could have just clicked a couple of buttons and paid for it.
For the second scenario, did you have all measurements correctly listed in your listings - hopefully with a tapemeasure. If it is tight on her it could be she gained wait, it is her time of the month. But it does not negate the fact that it was correctly listed.
If you took all measurements of it and stated it in the listing, I would tell her the listing was correct as to size as you carefully measured it. Then say nothing else until and if she opens a case.

Reply to second: I'm pleased that the top fits and accents your figure.

I always wait for payment if a buyer is communicating with me through messages. Some of my best buyers experienced health issues, family emergencies, etc during their first or second transaction with me. I allowed them the benefit of the doubt and waited for their payment. Most of those same buyers are still shopping with me. In your situation, I would wait until the 15th and close the case if your buyer still has not paid.
I do not sell clothing, however, I would be inclined to ignore the "this top is so tight" message for right now. Obviously she is wearing the top or she would not know that the top is tight. So now the top is "used". I would think that if she wanted to return the top, she would have already initiated the return process. Maybe she is looking for you to offer a partial refund? I would not do that.

Once a UID is opened it cannot be closed other by the buyer paying or not paying and the buyer receiving a strike. If you wish you can leave the strike open until the 14th, but if she hasn't paid by then I would close it and give her a strike. While it is regrettable that she had to deal with a family emergency, that really isn't a concern you should have to worry about.
There really isn't much you can say to the other buyer but as has already been said, "Sorry that you are unhappy with your purchase. Please return for a full refund." I would say nothing after that. The ball is in the buyer's court then.
I would probably put both on my BBL though.

If it were me ,, I'd probably wait until Oct. 14th for the payment from the first buyer . Lack of time may not be the reason she can't pay right now . Some family emergencies cost money ,, lots of it at times and she may be experiencing a shortage . As for the second buyer ,, ?? ,, since shes only made a comment and has not opened a return ,, I'd just ignore it . Tulips

I agree. My experience has been that if a buyer says they will pay by a certain date, they will keep their word and pay by that date.

You have several choices for a response to either of them, just really depends on how YOU feel. There truly is no right or wrong at this point.
First buyer... you can certainly close the case out asap, OR, you could leave the case open and wait until the 14th, and trust that they will pay. If they don't pay by the 14th, however, you should close the case and give them a strike.
Second buyer... you can ignore, as they didn't really ask you for anything, just gave you some information. Or you could tell them to return for a refund. Again, no right or wrong. Although if you choose to ignore, & they message again, then you should respond with 'return for refund' response.

I would block and ignore both. Proceed with UPI case through its conclusion.
If second buyer opens a return I would accept it.

The first one - up to you but I'd definitely close it if she hasn't paid by day end on the 14th. Personally, I think that if she had time to write to you after the case opened, she could have made time to write to you before that - after all, your opening the case wasn't the first time she was reminded to pay - eBay was already reminding her.
Is this the NYDJ jeans? You accepted a best offer from her on those. Unless you accepted the offer a day or 2 after she made the offer, there's really no reason for her not to have paid for them that day. Having ones offer accepted AND having a family emergency at the exact same time seems more of a coincidence than I am apt to believe. I'm more inclined to think this might be a case of someone going shopping at every payday and getting overextended. That's why she wants to pay you NEXT payday. JMHO.
As for the top - you don't offer returns so I wouldn't start now. I'd ignore her or you can respond by saying that you're sorry to hear that the top isn't a winner for her, but that she's welcome to use your pics to list the top on eBay. Is this the Fig and Flower top from mid September? Frankly, it's just as well you didn't put in measurements. Buyers love measurements when they want to return something on the seller's dime for fit - they just say the measurements were wrong. If there are no measurements provided, they actually have less grounds for a SNAD. September 11 is quite enough time for her to have worn it, worn it out, and grown tired of it.

Time of the month? Good grief.
Notwithstanding all that - no measurements is actually safer than accurate measurements when it comes to complaints about fit. If you don't put in measurements (and yes, I do but often wonder why I bother) the buyer can't dispute them.
Every single SNAD I've had claiming my measurements were wrong were because
1. I'd put measurements in in the first place and the buyer claimed what I wrote was wrong by inches
2. The garment allegedly didn't fit the buyer
3. When I got the item back, the measurements were exactly what I originally wrote, except for one where the buyer had washed the item and it shrank.

1) finish the UPI...tell them they can buy it when they can...block them if you want.
2) you do nothing untill they ask .... offer nothing...and then "return for refund"... often if it is just a buyer wanting a refund..they go away....if they do retun it..then fine..refund and deal with it....BUT they have to follow the procedure as do you...but do nothing untill asked or told what they want...if they open a case...then you follow it through.

Obviously she is wearing the top or she would not know that the top is tight. So now the top is "used".
Trying something on to see if it fits doesn't make it USED.
