non-payment

I've had a number of buyers lately that do not pay and do not respond.  When the system closes out the sale as non-payment  and refunds my fees, does the non-paying buyer get any kind of repercussion?  Nothing on my end says that they do but not sure if ebay actually does anything. I'm guessing they don't do much since it happens all too often.  Does anyone know?  It's really frustrating.

Re: non-payment

The "repercussion" from this is that the buyer deadbeat is given an Unpaid Item strike. A couple of those per year and the buyer deadbeat is kept off many sellers' doorsteps.

Re: non-payment

2 strikes keep a 'buyer' from bidding and making offers for one year.  I have my account set up to block anyone with 2 strikes per year, but you can raise that number if you wish.

Re: non-payment

If/when a buyer does not pay and the seller cancels citing buyer did not pay, buyer gets a strike.

A seller can refuse to deal with a buyer who has two strikes in a year.

Re: non-payment

Thank you all for the great info!  I am wondering how I block bidders with non-payment strikes?  Thanks again!

Re: non-payment

But that doesn't happen automatically.  The seller has to have his buyer requirements set that way.

Tick this link. You'll find ways to block UI users under Buyer Requirements, plus to add any and all to your Blocked Buyer List.

Re: non-payment

You just set your buyer requirements to block buyers with two strikes in twelve months.

Re: non-payment

One of the reasons that nonpayers can get away with it for a long time is that:

Sellers do not cancel citing buyer did not pay as the reason.

Or sellers don't set their buyer requirements so that they do not have to deal buyers who have 2 unpaid item cases in 12 months.
