negative feedback

After years of 100% rating I got one negative feedback. Can anyone tell me how long This negative will stay on my record or when it will rotate off my record. Thanks for your info and help.

I believe it will fall off in 1 year.  Did you ship the item in question as the buyer seems to think you didn't? You may want to follow up with a professional reply and keep it professional.  PS Keeping track of tracking is a "must" on Ebay.  No matter how many items you ship.

In the mean time, 1 negative isn't going to impact your shop or make people shop elsewhere.  Look at how many other people are singing your praises, that's what the bottom line should be.  Just work on not allowing it to happen again and you'll be fine.  No worries.

Happy Selling.

I wouldn't  reply. The feedback shows they were refunded. Packages go missing. Not suspicious at all.  They got a refund.

Priority Mail has free tracking.  The tracking number is automatically uploaded when you make eBay labels.

Call eBay and they can have the negative feedback removed. That is your best option. If you leave the negative, 'you will make less sales and have less visability.

The seller has to ask the buyer to remove, not eBay.  And one negative will not impact the sales or lessen their visibility either.  They've had several sales since the negative comment was posted.

According to Terapeak, that item was sold on Jan 4, 2023. The feedback had to be left within 60 days of the sale, so could have been left as late as Mar 3, 2023. It will age off one year after it was left.

I'm a bit confused.

Was there a INR filed?

Priority mail has tracking.

What did the tracking say?

If it was delivered, why was there a refund?

You would have won a INR case.

If you won the INR case ebay would remove negative feedback complaining about not receiving the item.

But to answer your question: One year.

Actually, depending on circumstances, both are possible. You may be able to get eBay to remove the Neg if the buyer's actions violated some eBay rule that would qualify it for removal.

Conversely, if the Neg was due to some dispute with the buyer that has now been resolved, the seller can request a Feedback Revision from the buyer. It's the buyer's choice as to whether to agree.

The neg will affect your feedback percentage until 12 months after the transaction date.  The comment and rating will stay in your feedback history forever, but after 12 months your feedback will be 100% again.

Meanwhile, you might purchase a few items from sellers who reliably leave feedback, to get your percentage up; many potential buyers would get scare off by seeing 96%.

After 9yrs. of selling with over 3K positive feedbacks I received my 1st. negative.  It was TOTALLY unfounded. My first thought was to "fire back".  I came to this board for advice.  A very nice community poster advised me to just to let it go as it likely not affect anything because of my already established reputation and that responding may not paint a good picture to future buyers.  She was correct.  It did not change a thing & I was glad that I didn't.  It aged of in 1yr.     Good Luck. firing back at a neg is hardly ever worth it, sellers just want to put the ebayer who left a neg in a bad light and often it just backfires

if you want to write a comeback to a neg its best to wait 7 days and by then it will seem way less important

its good to see other sellers express the viewpoint of not responding to a negative

Go to this link below & request a removal, indicating your tracking # to show that it was delivered.  If it wasn't delivered, then they prolly won't remove.  This is your best bet, as it's super quick & they remove a lot of them.

@ckimodog@windycityart4u   Respectfully, the seller does NOT have to contact the user to remove it, the link I provided works great without having to do anything else.  I have had numerous FB removed using that link.  Also, just FYI, it is often NOT reccomended to contact the buyer, b/c you only have a limited number of revision requests.  No point in using one unless the buyer agreed in advance to change it.

I prefer this link to any other method b/c 1- no phone calls to waste time with, 2-no social media to risk using, 3-it's super quick both to do & typically the response is within an hour.  Good luck @bilstone-94  .

It's too late  to do a buyer revision anyway, since the 30-day deadline is long gone.

This neg might stick since it's partly about the seller's refusal to share the tracking number.

If you can't get it removed, don't worry about it and just keep going, and use your best practices. Anyone who sees your feedback percentage isn't going to be bothered by it, since it's one single neg in a relatively low number of feedbacks.

Trust me, you can call and request for the feedback to be removed by the eBay team. You can also dispute negative feedback through an email submission to eBay as well. Also, eBay's algorithm is so strict, any little ding can create a multitude of problems and decrease sales for an extended period of time. Even if they are receiving sales, they might still have limited the number of sales or the amount sold.
