my item title is incorrect and i can't change it

I pasted the wrong thing in the item title field and didn't realize it until there were already bids.  The description has the correct info in the main body, just the title is wrong.  I tried contacting the highest bidder, but when I enter the item number and click the button, it just takes me to My Messages.  I'm concerned that someone will claim 'incorrect item' because of this.  I can't edit the title or description since there are bids already. 

Should I cancel the auction altogether? (Can I, with 4 bids already?)

Or should I just wait until the auction is over and message the winner before shipping?

It's possible to cancel the bids and end an auction with no winner IF the auction has more than 12 hours left. Your auction has less than 4 hours left, so that's not an option any more.

Your two options are (1) as you mentioned, let the auction run and then have a conversation with the winner, explain the issues as you did here; and (2) cancel the bids and hope that you don't get any last-minute bids so the auction ends with no winning buyer.  If you choose option (2), you should be set up and prepared to try to cancel any last-minute bis that come in.
